Together with his soldiers, David headed for Baalah to recover the Chest of God, which was called by the Name God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who was enthroned over the pair of angels on the Chest.
Peril in Moving the Ark
1 (C1)Now David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.2 He and all his troops set out(C1) to bring the ark of God from Baale-judah.(F1) The ark bears the Name, the name of the Lord of Armies who is enthroned between the cherubim.(C2) 2 David arose, and went with all the people who were with him, from Ba`ale-Yeudah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of the LORD of Hosts who sits [above] the Keruvim.
2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims. 2 David got up and went and all the people who were with him, from Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God which is called the name, the name of Yahweh of hosts, upon which the cherubim sit.[a] 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from (b)Baale-judah (c)to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts (d)who sits enthroned on the cherubim. 2 Then he and all his people went to Baalah in Judah[a] to bring back the Ark of God. The Ark is called by the Name, the name of the Lord All-Powerful, whose throne is between the gold creatures with wings. 2 David and all the men who were with him traveled to Baalah in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts, who sits enthroned between the cherubim that are on it. 2 And David arose and went with all those who were with him to (C1)Baale-judah Kiriath-jearim, to bring up from there to Jerusalem the ark of God which is called by the (C2)Name—the very Name of the LORD of hosts, who (C3)dwells enthroned above the cherubim.2 And David (F1)departed from (F2)(C1)Baale-judah, with all the people who were with him, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the (C2)Name, the very name of the LORD of armies who (C3)is (F3)enthroned above the cherubim.2 And Dauid arose and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Iudah to bring vp from thence the Arke of God, whose name is called by the Name of the Lorde, of hostes, that dwelleth vpon it betweene the Cherubims.2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him (F1)from (F2)(C1)Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the (C2)Name, the very name of Yahweh of hosts who (C3)is (F3)enthroned above the cherubim. 2 led them to Baalah in Judah, which was also called Kiriath-Jearim. They were going there[a] to get the sacred chest and bring it back to Jerusalem. The throne of the Lord All-Powerful is above the winged creatures[b] on top of this chest, and he is worshiped there.[c] 2 Then David, taking along the entire force he had with him then, set out for Ba‘alei-Y'hudah to bring up from there the ark of God, which bears the Name, the name of Adonai-Tzva'ot enthroned above the k'ruvim.
2 And David arose and went with all the people that were with him from Baale-Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God which is called by the name, the name of Jehovah of hosts who sitteth between the cherubim. 2 Then David and all his men went to Baalah in Judah[a] to take God's Holy Box there. The Holy Box is like God's throne—people go there to call on the name of the Lord All-Powerful who sits as king above the Cherub angels that are on that Box.2 And David arose with all the people who were with him of the men of Judah and went to Geba to bring up from thence the ark of God, for at that place was invoked the name of the LORD of hosts, who dwells upon the cherubim. 2 (b)and led them to Baalah[a] in Judah, in order to bring from there God's Covenant Box, bearing the name of the Lord Almighty, whose throne is above the winged creatures.[b] 2 And David rose up and went, and all the people with him, from Baal-judah, to bring up the ark of God from there which is called by the Name, the Name of Jehovah of Hosts, who dwells above the cherubs.2 and gat him vp, and wente with all the people that was with him of the citesins of Iuda, to fetch vp the Arke of God from thence: whose name is: The name of the LORDE Zebaoth dwelleth theron betwene the Cherubins 2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, [a]which is called by the Name, even the name of Jehovah of hosts that [b]sitteth above the cherubim. 2 And David, and all the people who were with him, went to Baal of Judah to get the ark of God, over which the holy name is named, the name of the Lord of armies, whose place is between the winged ones.2 And arose, and went with all the folke that were with him, from Baala of Iuda, to fet away from thence the arke of God, whose name is called by the name of the lord of hoastes that dwelleth vpon it betweene the cherubims.2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whereupon is called the Name, even the name of the LORD of hosts that sitteth upon the cherubim.2 And Dauid arose and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale of Iudah, to bring vp from thence the Arke of God, whose Name is called by the Name of the Lord of hostes, that dwelleth betweene the Cherubims. 2 And David arose, and went, he and all the people that were with him, and some of the rulers of Juda, on an expedition to a distant place, to bring back thence the ark of God, on which the name of the Lord of Host who dwells between the cherubs upon it is called. 2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of the LORD of hosts that sitteth upon the cherubim. 2 And he and all his troops set out for Baale of Judah(a) to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name(a), the name of the LORD of Hosts who is enthroned between the cherubim that are on it.2 And Dauid roos, and yede, and al the puple that was with hym of the men of Juda, to brynge the arke of God, on which the name of the Lord of oostis, sittynge in cherubyn on that arke, was clepid.2 and David riseth and goeth, and all the people who [are] with him, from Baale-Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God, whose name hath been called -- the name of Jehovah of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubs -- upon it.2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Yahweh of hosts that sits [above] the cherubim.2 And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubim.2 David arose, and went with all the people who were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Yahweh of Hosts who sits [above] the cherubim. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, [fn] the Lord of Hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. 2 He led them to Baalah of Judah[a] to bring back the Ark of God, which bears the name of the Lord of Heaven's Armies,[b] who is enthroned between the cherubim. 2 He got up and went with all the people who were with him to Baale-judah to bring from there the special box of God. It is called by the name of the Lord of All Who sits on His throne above the cherubim. 2 David and all the people with him set out and went from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who is enthroned on the cherubim. 2 Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, - to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.2 And David arose and went, with all the people that were with him of the men of Juda to fetch the ark of God, upon which the name of the Lord of Hosts is invoked, who sitteth over it upon the cherubims.2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Ba'ale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim.2 and David rises and goes, and all the people who [are] with him, from Ba‘ale-Judah, to bring up the Ark of God from there, whose name has been called—the Name of YHWH of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubim—on it.2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him to (F1)(C1)Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the (C2)Name, the very name of the LORD of hosts who (C3)is (F2)enthroned above the cherubim.3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and transported it from Abinadab’s house, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio,(F1) sons of Abinadab, were guiding the cart(C1) 3 They set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Avinadav that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Achyo, the sons of Avinadav, drove the new cart.
3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart. 3 They loaded the ark of God on a new utility cart, and they carried it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Now Uzza and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new utility cart along. 3 And they carried the ark of God (e)on a new cart and brought it (f)out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio,[a] the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart, 3 They put the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, led the new cart 3 They loaded the ark of God on a new cart and carried it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart. 3 They placed the ark of God on (F1)(C1)a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart.3 They had mounted the ark of God on (C1)a new cart and moved it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart.3 And they put the Arke of God vpon a newe cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah. And Vzzah and Ahio the sonnes of Abinadab did driue the newe carte.3 And they (F1)drove the ark of God on (C1)a new cart that they might bring it from the house of Abinadab which was on the hill; and (F2)Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart.
3 They put the sacred chest on a new ox cart and started bringing it down the hill from Abinadab's house. Abinadab's sons Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the ox cart, 3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Avinadav on the hill, with ‘Uzah and Achyo, the sons of Avinadav, driving the new cart.
3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was upon the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. 3 David's men brought the Holy Box out of Abinadab's house on the hill. Then they put God's Holy Box on a new wagon. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new wagon.3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah; and Uzzah and Ahia, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart, walking behind it. 3 (c)They took it from Abinadab's home on the hill and placed it on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the cart, 3 And they caused the ark of God to ride on a new cart, and took it from the house of Abinadab, which is in the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio the sons of Abinadab were leading the new cart.3 And they caused the arke of God to be caried vpo a new cart, and fetched it out of ye house of Abinadab, which dwelt at Gibea. Vsa and Ahio the sonnes of Abinadab droue ye new cart. 3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in [c]the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. 3 And they put the ark of God on a new cart and took it out of the house of Abinadab which was on the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were the drivers of the cart.3 And they put the arke of God vpon a newe cart, & brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibea: And Uzza and Ahio the sonnes of Abinadab draue the newe carte.3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.3 And they set the Arke of God vpon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio the sonnes of Abinadab, draue the new cart. 3 And they put the ark of the Lord on a new waggon, and took it out of the house of Aminadab who lived on the hill, and Oza and his brethren the sons of Aminadab drove the waggon with the ark. 3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart. 3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart,3 And thei puttiden the arke of God on a newe wayn, and thei token it fro the hows of Amynadab, that was in Gabaa. Forsothe Oza and Haio, the sons of Amynadab, dryueden the newe wayn.3 And they cause the ark of God to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;3 And they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that [was] in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio the sons of Abinadab drove the new cart.3 They set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. 3 So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab's sons, were guiding the cart 3 They carried the special box of God on a new wagon, and brought it out of the family of Abinadab which was on the hill. Abinadab's sons Uzzah and Ahio were leading the new wagon. 3 They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio,[a] the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart 3 So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, - and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.3 And they laid the ark of God upon a new cart: and took it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gabaa, and Oza and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.3 And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abin'adab which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahi'o, the sons of Abin'adab, were driving the new cart3 And they cause the Ark of God to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;3-7 They placed the Chest of God on a brand-new oxcart and removed it from Abinadab's house on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab's sons, were driving the new cart loaded with the Chest of God, Ahio in the lead and Uzzah alongside the Chest. David and the whole company of Israel were in the parade, singing at the top of their lungs and playing mandolins, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals. When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, so Uzzah reached out and grabbed the Chest of God. God blazed in anger against Uzzah and struck him hard because he had profaned the Chest. Uzzah died on the spot, right alongside the Chest.3 They (F1)placed the ark of God on (C1)a new cart that they might bring it from the house of Abinadab which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart.4 and brought it with the ark of God from Abinadab’s house on the hill. Ahio walked in front of the ark. 4 They brought it out of the house of Avinadav, which was in the hill, with the ark of God: and Achyo went before the ark.
4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 4 So they brought it out from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill with the ark of God, and Ahio was going before the ark. 4 with the ark of God,[b] and Ahio went before the ark. 4 which had the Ark of God on it. Ahio was walking in front of it. 4 They brought it with the ark of God up from the house of Abinadab on the hill. Ahio was walking in front of the ark, 4 So (C1)they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking in front of the ark. (VR1)4 So (C1)they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking ahead of the ark.4 And when they brought the Arke of God out of the house of Abinadab, that was at Gibeah, Ahio went before the Arke,4 So (C1)they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking ahead of the ark. 4 with Ahio[d] walking in front of it. 4 They led it from the house of Avinadav on the hill, with the ark of God; Achyo walked in front of the ark.
4 And they brought it with the ark of God out of the house of Abinadab which was upon the hill; and Ahio went before the ark.
4 So they carried the Holy Box out of Abinadab's house on the hill. The sons of Abinadab, Uzzah and Ahio, drove the new wagon. Ahio was walking in front of the Holy Box.4 And they brought the ark of God out of the house of Abinadab which was in Gibeah, and Ahia went before the ark. 4 with Ahio walking in front. 4 And they took it from the house of Abinadab, which is in the hill, with the ark of God. And Ahio was going before the ark.4 And whan they broughte it with the Arke from the house of Abinadab which dwelt at Gibea, Ahio wente before the Arke: 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in [d]the hill, with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 4 And Uzzah went by the side of the ark, while Ahio went before it.4 And when they brought the arke of God out of the house of Abinadab that was at Gibea, Ahio went before the arke.4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God, and Ahio went before the ark.4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the Arke of God; and Ahio went before the Arke. 4 And his brethren went before the ark. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 4 bringing with it the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill(a). And Ahio was walking in front of the ark.
Uzzah Touches the Ark
(1 Chronicles 13:8-144 And whanne thei hadden take it fro the hows of Amynadab, that was in Gabaa, and kepte the arke of God, Haio yede bifor the arke.4 and they lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, with the ark of God, and Ahio is going before the ark,4 with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which [was] at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.4 They brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark. 4 that carried the Ark of God.[c] Ahio walked in front of the Ark. 4 They brought it with the special box of God from the family of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Ahio was walking in front of the special box. 4 with the ark of God;[b] and Ahio[c] went in front of the ark. 4 So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, - and, Ahio, was going before the ark.4 And when they had taken it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gabaa, Ahio having care of the ark of God went before the ark.4 with the ark of God; and Ahi'o went before the ark.4 and they lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, with the Ark of God, and Ahio is going before the Ark,4 So (C1)they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking ahead of the ark.5 David and the whole house of Israel were dancing before the Lord with all kinds of fir wood instruments,(F1) lyres, harps, tambourines, sistrums,(F2) and cymbals.(C1)5 David and all the house of Yisra'el played before the LORD with all manner of [instruments made of] fir-wood, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with castanets, and with cymbals.
5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. 5 Now David and all the house of Israel were dancing before Yahweh, with all kinds of musical instruments made from ash trees, and with zithers, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.
Uzzah and the Ark
5 And David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord, with (g)songs[c] and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals. 5 David and all the Israelites were celebrating in the presence of the Lord. They were playing wooden instruments: lyres, harps, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals. 5 while David and all Israel were energetically celebrating before the Lord, singing and playing various stringed instruments, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals.5 Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel were celebrating and (C1)dancing before the LORD (C2)with all kinds of instruments made of fir or cypress wood, with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.
5 Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel (C1)were celebrating before the LORD (C2)with all kinds of instruments made of juniper wood, and with (F1)lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.5 And Dauid and al the house of Israel played before the Lorde on all instruments made of firre, and on harpes, and on Psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.5 Now David and all the house of Israel (C1)were celebrating before Yahweh (C2)with all kinds of instruments made of (F1)fir wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals. 5 Some of the people of Israel were playing music on small harps and other stringed instruments, and on tambourines, castanets, and cymbals. David and the others were happy, and they danced for the Lord with all their might. 5 David and the whole house of Isra'el celebrated in the presence of Adonai with all kinds of musical instruments made of cypress-wood, including lyres, lutes, tambourines, rattles and cymbals.5 And David and all the house of Israel played before Jehovah on all manner of [instruments made of] cypress wood, with harps, and with lutes, and with tambours, and with sistra, and with cymbals. 5 David and all the Israelites were dancing in front of the Lord and playing all kinds of musical instruments. There were lyres, harps, drums, rattles, instruments made from cypress wood, and cymbals.5 And David and all the house of Israel danced before the LORD waving branches of cedar trees and cypress, and played upon harps and lyres and timbrels and cornets and cymbals. 5 David and all the Israelites were dancing and singing with all their might[c] to honor the Lord. They played songs with harps and timbrels. 5 David and all the house of Israel were dancing before the Lord with all their might, with songs[d] and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.5 And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, - and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.5 But David and all Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of wood, on harps and lutes and timbrels and cornets and cymbals.5 And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.5 and David and all the house of Israel are playing before YHWH, with all kinds of [instruments] of fir-wood, even with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with horns, and with cymbals.5 Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel (C1)were celebrating before the LORD (C2)with all kinds of instruments made of (F1)fir wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets and cymbals.
6 When they came to Nacon’s threshing floor, Uzzah reached out to the ark of God and took hold of it because the oxen had stumbled.
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakhon, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled.
6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzza reached out to the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen had stumbled. 6 And when they came to the threshing floor of (h)Nacon, Uzzah (i)put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.
6 When David's men came to the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled. So Uzzah reached out to steady the Ark of God.
6 When they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and grabbed hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.
6 When they came to Nacon's (C1)threshing floor, Uzzah (C2)reached out with his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen stumbled and nearly overturned it.
6 But when they came to the (C1)threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah (C2)reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen nearly overturned it.
6 And when they came to Nachons threshing floore, Vzzah put his hande to the Arke of God, and helde it: for the oxen did shake it.
6 Then they came to the (C1)threshing floor of Nacon. And (F1)Uzzah (C2)reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen nearly upset it.
6 But when they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, the oxen stumbled, so Uzzah reached out and took hold of the sacred chest.
6 When they arrived at Nakhon's threshing-floor, the oxen stumbled; and ‘Uzah put out his hand to steady the ark of God.
6 And when they came to Nachon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached after the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen had stumbled. 6 When David's men came to the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and God's Holy Box began to fall off the wagon. Uzzah caught the Holy Box.
6 And when they came to the threshing floors, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of the LORD, and took hold of it; for the oxen broke loose from the harness.
6 As they came to the threshing place of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out and took hold of the Covenant Box.

6 And when they came to the threshing–floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled.

6 And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled.

6 And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.
6 And when they came to the floor of Nachon, Oza put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it: because the oxen kicked and made it lean aside.
6 And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.
6 And they come to the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah puts forth [his hand] to the Ark of God, and lays hold on it, for they released the oxen;
6 But when they came to the (C1)threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah (C2)reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen nearly upset it.7 Then the Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah,(C1) and God struck him dead on the spot for his irreverence,(C2) and he died there next to the ark of God. 7 The anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God struck him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
