David’s Kindness to Mephibosheth

1 David asked, “Is there anyone remaining from the family of Saul I can show kindness(C1) to for Jonathan’s sake?” (C2)

1 David said, Is there yet any who is left of the house of Sha'ul, that I may show him kindness for Yonatan's sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

David Cares for Mephibosheth

1 Then David said, "Is there still anyone who is left for the house of Saul that I may show loyal love to him for the sake of Jonathan?"

David's Kindness to Mephibosheth

1 And David said, "Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may (a)show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

David Helps Saul's Family

1 David asked, "Is anyone still left in Saul's family? I want to show kindness to that person for Jonathan's sake!"

David Finds Mephibosheth

1 Then David asked, "Is anyone still left from the family of Saul, so that I may extend kindness to him for the sake of Jonathan?"

1 And David said, "Is there still anyone left of the house (family) of Saul (C1)to whom I may show kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

1 Then David said, "Is there (F1)anyone still left of the house of Saul, (C1)so that I could show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

1 And Dauid sayde, Is there yet any man left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him mercie for Ionathans sake?

1 Then David said, "Is there yet (F1)anyone left of the house of Saul, (C1)that I may show him lovingkindness for Jonathan's sake?"

1 One day, David thought, "I wonder if any of Saul's family are still alive. If they are, I will be kind to them, because I made a promise to Jonathan."

1 David inquired, "Is there anyone still alive from the family of Sha'ul, to whom, for Y'honatan's sake, I can show kindness?"

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

David Is Kind to Saul's Family

1 David asked, "Is there anyone still left in Saul's family? I want to show kindness to this person. I want to do it for Jonathan."

1 AND David said, Is there yet any one left of the house of Saul, that I may show kindness to him for Jonathans sake?

David and Mephibosheth

1 (a)One day David asked, "Is there anyone left of Saul's family? If there is, I would like to show him kindness for Jonathan's sake."

1 And David said, Is there yet any left to the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness because of Jonathan?

1 And Dauid sayde: Remayneth there yet eny man of Sauls house, that I maye do mercy vpon him for Ionathas sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

1 And David said, Is there still anyone of Saul's family living, so that I may be a friend to him, because of Jonathan?

1 And Dauid sayde: Is there yet any man left of ye house of Saul? For I wil shewe him mercie for Ionathans sake.

1 And David said: 'Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?'

1 And Dauid said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindnesse for Ionathans sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet any one left in the house of Saul, that I may deal kindly with him for Jonathan’s sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

1 Then David asked, “Is there anyone left from the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for the sake of Jonathan?”

1 And Dauid seide, Whether ony man is, that lefte of the hows of Saul, that Y do mercy with hym for Jonathas?

1 And David saith, `Is there yet any left to the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?'

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

1 And David said, Is there yet one left unto the house of Saul, - that I may show him lovingkindness, for the sake of, Jonathan?

1 And David said: Is there any one, think you, left of the house of Saul, that I may shew kindness to him for Jonathan’s sake?

1 And David said, "Is there still any one left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

1 And David says, "Is there yet any left of the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?"

1 One day David asked, "Is there anyone left of Saul's family? If so, I'd like to show him some kindness in honor of Jonathan."

1 Then David said, "Is there yet (F1)anyone left of the house of Saul, (C1)that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"2 There was a servant of Saul’s family named Ziba.(C1) They summoned him to David, and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?”

2 There was of the house of Sha'ul a servant whose name was Tziva, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, Are you Tziva? He said, Your servant is he.

2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. 2 Now Saul's household had a servant whose name was Ziba, so they summoned him to David, and the king asked him, "Are you Ziba?" He said, "At your service!"[a] 2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was (b)Ziba, and they called him to David. And the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "I am your servant."

2 Now there was a servant named Ziba from Saul's family. So David's servants called Ziba to him. King David said to him, "Are you Ziba?"

He answered, "Yes, I am your servant."

2 Now there was a servant from Saul's house named Ziba, so he was summoned to David. The king asked him, "Are you Ziba?" He replied, "At your service." 2 There was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, so they called him to David. And the king said to him, "Are you (C1)Ziba?" He said, "I am your servant."2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they summoned him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you (C1)Ziba?" And he said, "I am your servant."2 And there was of the housholde of Saul a seruant whose name was Ziba, & when they had called him vnto Dauid, the King sayd vnto him, Art thou Ziba? And he sayd, I thy seruant am he.2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you (C1)Ziba?" And he said, "I am your servant." 2 David called in Ziba, one of the servants of Saul's family. David said, "So you are Ziba."

"Yes, Your Majesty, I am." 2 In Sha'ul's household there had been a servant named Tziva, and they summoned him to David. The king asked him, "Are you Tziva?" and he answered, "At your service."

2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant!

2 There was a servant named Ziba from Saul's family. David's servants called Ziba to David. King David said to Ziba, "Are you Ziba?"

Ziba said, "Yes, I am your servant Ziba."2 Now there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And they called him to David, and the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, I am your servant.

2 There was a servant of Saul's family named Ziba, and he was told to go to David. "Are you Ziba?" the king asked.

"At your service, sir," he answered.2 And the house of Saul had a servant, and his name was Ziba. And they called him to David. And the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, Your servant!2 There was a seruaunt of Sauls house, named Siba, whom they called vnto Dauid, & the kynge sayde vnto him: Art thou Siba? He sayde: Yee thy seruaunt. 2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. 2 Now there was of Saul's people a servant named Ziba, and they sent him to David; and the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, I am.2 And there was of the householde of Saul, a seruaunt whose name was Ziba, and when they had called him vnto Dauid, the king saide vnto him: Art thou Ziba? He said: Thy seruaunt is he.2 Now there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him: 'Art thou Ziba?' And he said: 'Thy servant is he.'2 And there was of the house of Saul, a seruant whose name was Ziba: and when they had called him vnto Dauid, the king said vnto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy seruant is he. 2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul, and his name was Siba: and they call him to David; and the king said to him, Art thou Siba? and he said, I am thy servant. 2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. 2 And there was a servant of Saul’s family named Ziba. They summoned him to David, and the king inquired, “Are you Ziba?” “I am your servant,” he replied.2 Forsothe a seruaunt, Siba bi name, was of the hous of Saul; whom whanne the kyng hadde clepid to hym silf, `the kyng seide to hym, Whethir thou art not Siba? And he answeride, Y am thi seruaunt.2 And the house of Saul hath a servant, and his name [is] Ziba, and they call for him unto David; and the king saith unto him, `Art thou Ziba?' and he saith, `Thy servant.'2 And there was of the house of Saul a slave whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, Your slave is he.2 And [there was] of the house of Saul a servant whose name [was] Ziba. And when they had called him to David, the king said to him, [Art] thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant [is he].2 There was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, Are you Ziba? He said, Your servant is he. 2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" He said, "At your service!" 2 He summoned a man named Ziba, who had been one of Saul's servants. "Are you Ziba?" the king asked.

"Yes sir, I am," Ziba replied. 2 Now there was a servant in Saul's house whose name was Ziba. They called him to David, and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "I am your servant." 2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and he was summoned to David. The king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "At your service!" 2 Now, unto the house of Saul, belonged a servant, whose name, was Ziba, and, when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him - Art, thou, Ziba? And he said - Thy servant!2 Now there was of the house of Saul, a servant named Siba: and when the king had called him to him, he said to him: Art thou Siba? And he answered: I am Siba thy servant.2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "Your servant is he."2 And the house of Saul has a servant, and his name [is] Ziba, and they call for him to David; and the king says to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he says, "Your servant."

2 It happened that a servant from Saul's household named Ziba was there. They called him into David's presence. The king asked him, "Are you Ziba?"

"Yes sir," he replied.2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you (C1)Ziba?" And he said, "I am your servant."

“I am your servant,” he replied.

3 So the king asked, “Is there anyone left of Saul’s family that I can show the kindness of God to?”

3 The king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Sha'ul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? Tziva said to the king, Yonatan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet.

3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. 3 Then the king said, "But is there still anyone of Saul's household that I may show the loyal love of God with him?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in the feet." 3 And the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, that I may show (c)the kindness of God to him?" Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of (d)Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet."

3 The king asked, "Is anyone left in Saul's family? I want to show God's kindness to that person."

Ziba answered the king, "Jonathan has a son still living who is crippled in both feet." 3 The king asked, "Is there not someone left from Saul's family, that I may extend God's kindness to him?" Ziba said to the king, "One of Jonathan's sons is left; both of his feet are crippled." 3 And the king said, "Is there no longer anyone left of the house (family) of Saul to whom I may show the (C1)goodness and graciousness of God?" Ziba replied to the king, "There is still a son of (C2)Jonathan, one whose feet are crippled." (VR1)3 Then the king said, "Is there no one remaining of the house of Saul to whom I could show the (C1)kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "(C2)There is still a son of Jonathan, one who is disabled in both feet."3 Then the King sayd, Remayneth there yet none of the house of Saul, on whome I may shewe the mercie of God? Ziba then answered the King, Ionathan hath yet a sonne lame of his feete.3 And the king said, "Is there not yet anyone of the house of Saul to whom I may show the (C1)lovingkindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "(C2)There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet."

3 David asked, "Are any of Saul's family still alive? If there are, I want to be kind to them."

Ziba answered, "One of Jonathan's sons is still alive, but he can't walk." 3 The king said, "Is there anyone still alive from the family of Sha'ul, to whom I can show God's grace?" Tziva said to the king, "There is still Y'honatan's son with the lame legs."

3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame on [his] feet.

3 The king said, "Is there anyone left in Saul's family? I want to show God's kindness to this person."

Ziba said to King David, "Jonathan has a son still living. He is crippled in both feet."3 And the king said to him, Is there any one still left of the house of Saul, that I may show kindness to him for the sake of God? And Ziba said to the king, There is yet a son left to Jonathan, who is lame in his feet.

3 (b)The king asked him, "Is there anyone left of Saul's family to whom I can show loyalty and kindness, as I promised God I would?"

Ziba answered, "There is still one of Jonathan's sons. He is crippled."3 And the king said, Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, There is yet a son to Jonathan, lame in both feet.3 The kynge sayde: Is there yet eny man of Sauls house, yt I maye do the mercy of God vpon him? Siba sayde vnto the kynge: There is yet a sonne of Ionathas, lame on his fete. 3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame of his feet. 3 And the king said, Is there anyone of Saul's family still living, to whom I may be a friend in God's name? And Ziba said, There is a son of Jonathan, whose feet are damaged.3 And the king saide: Remaineth there yet any man of the house of Saul, who I may shewe the mercie of God vpon? Ziba aunswered the king: Ionathan hath yet a sonne, which is lame on his feete.3 And the king said: 'Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God unto him?' And Ziba said unto the king: 'Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame on his feet.'3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindnesse of God vnto him? and Ziba said vnto the king, Ionathan hath yet a sonne, which is lame on his feete. 3 And the king said, Is there yet a man left of the house of Saul, that I may act towards him with the mercy of God? and Siba said to the king, There is yet a son of Jonathan, lame of his feet. 3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. 3 So the king asked, “Is there anyone left of Saul’s family to whom I can show the kindness of God?” Ziba answered, “There is still Jonathan’s son, who is lame in both feet.”3 And the kyng seide, Whether ony man lyueth of the hows of Saul, that Y do with hym the mercy of God? And Siba seide to the kyng, A sone of Jonathas lyueth, feble in the feet.3 And the king saith, `Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, and I do with him the kindness of God?' And Ziba saith unto the king, `Jonathan hath yet a son -- lame.'3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet.3 And the king said, [Is] there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? and Ziba said to the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, [who is] lame in [his] feet.3 The king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet. 3 Then the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet."

3 The king then asked him, "Is anyone still alive from Saul's family? If so, I want to show God's kindness to them."

Ziba replied, "Yes, one of Jonathan's sons is still alive. He is crippled in both feet." 3 The king said, "Is there not still someone of the family of Saul to whom I may show the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who cannot walk because of his feet." 3 The king said, "Is there anyone remaining of the house of Saul to whom I may show the kindness of God?" Ziba said to the king, "There remains a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet." 3 Then said the king - Is there never a man remaining unto the house of Saul, that I may show him the lovingkindness of God? And Ziba said unto the king, There remaineth a son unto Jonathan, lame in his feet.3 And the king said: Is there any one left of the house of Saul, that I may shew the mercy of God unto Him? And Siba said to the king: There is a son of Jonathan left, who is lame of his feet.3 And the king said, "Is there not still some one of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?" Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet."3 And the king says, "Is there not yet a man of the house of Saul, and I do with him the kindness of God?" And Ziba says to the king, "Jonathan has yet a son—lame."

3 The king asked, "Is there anyone left from the family of Saul to whom I can show some godly kindness?"

Ziba told the king, "Yes, there is Jonathan's son, lame in both feet."3 The king said, "Is there not yet anyone of the house of Saul to whom I may show the (C1)kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "(C2)There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet."

Ziba said to the king, “There is still Jonathan’s son who was injured in both feet.”(C1)

4 The king asked him, “Where is he?”

4 The king said to him, Where is he? Tziva said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Makhir the son of `Ammi'el, in Lo-Devar.

4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar. 4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "He is here[b] in the house of Makir the son of Ammiel in Lo Debar." 4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "He is in the house of (e)Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar."

4 The king asked Ziba, "Where is this son?"

Ziba answered, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar." 4 The king asked him, "Where is he?" Ziba told the king, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba replied to the king, "He is (C1)in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar."4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Behold, he is (C1)in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar."4 Then the King said vnto him, Where is he? And Ziba said vnto the King, Behold, he is in the house of Machir ye sonne of Ammiel of Lo-debar.4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Behold, he is (C1)in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lo-debar."

4 "Where is he?" David asked.

Ziba replied, "He lives in Lo-Debar with Machir the son of Ammiel." 4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" and Tziva answered, "He's there in the house of Makhir the son of ‘Ammi'el, in Lo-D'var."

4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.

4 The king said to Ziba, "Where is this son?"

Ziba said to the king, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar."4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Gammir, in Lo-debar.

4 "Where is he?" the king asked.

"At the home of Machir son of Ammiel in Lodebar," Ziba answered. 4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.4 The kynge sayde vnto him: Where is he? Siba sayde vnto ye kynge: Beholde, he is at Ladober in ye house of Machir ye sonne of Ammuel. 4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar. 4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, He is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.4 The king said vnto him: where is he? Ziba saide vnto the king: Behold, he is in the house of Machir the sonne of Amiel of Lodeber.4 And the king said unto him: 'Where is he?' And Ziba said unto the king: 'Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.'4 And the king saide vnto him, Where is hee? and Ziba said vnto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the sonne of Ammiel, in Lodebar. 4 And the king said, Where is he? and Siba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Amiel of Lodabar. 4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo–debar. 4 “Where is he?” replied the king. And Ziba said, “Indeed, he is in Lo-debar at the house of Machir son of Ammiel.”4 The kyng seide, Where is he? And Siba seide to the kyng, Lo! he is in the hows of Machir, sone of Amyel, in Lodabar.4 And the king saith to him, `Where [is] he?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he [is] in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Debar.'4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Look, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.4 And the king said to him, Where [is] he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he [is] in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.4 The king said to him, Where is he? Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Look-debar. 4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar."

4 "Where is he?" the king asked.

"In Lo-debar," Ziba told him, "at the home of Makir son of Ammiel." 4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" Ziba answered the king, "See, he is in the family of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lo-debar." 4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" Ziba said to the king, "He is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar." 4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Lo! he, is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.4 Where is he? said he. And Siba said to the king: Behold he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lodabar.4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "He is in the house of Machir the son of Am'miel, at Lo-debar."4 And the king says to him, "Where [is] he?" And Ziba says to the king, "Behold, he [is] in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Behold-Debar."

4 "Where is he?"

"He's living at the home of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar."4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Behold, he is (C1)in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lo-debar."

Ziba answered the king, “You’ll find him in Lo-debar at the house of Machir son of Ammiel.” 5 So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.

5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Makhir the son of `Ammi'el, from Lo-Devar.

5 Then King David had servants bring Jonathan's son from the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.

5 So King David had him brought from the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar. 5 Then King David sent word and had him brought from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then King David sent (F1)messengers who brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then King Dauid sent, and tooke him out of the house of Machir the sonne of Ammiel of Lo-debar.5 Then King David sent and took him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5-6 David sent some servants to bring Jonathan's son from Lo-Debar. His name was Mephibosheth,[a] and he was the grandson of Saul. He came to David and knelt down.

David asked, "Are you Mephibosheth?"

"Yes, I am, Your Majesty." 5 King David sent and took him from the house of Makhir the son of ‘Ammi'el in Lo-D'var.

5 And king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.

5 Then King David sent some of his officers to Lo Debar to bring Jonathan's son from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.5 Then King David sent and took him from the house of Machir, the son of Gammir, from Lo-debar. 5 So King David sent for him.5 And King David sent and took him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, of Lo-debar.5 The sent kynge Dauid thither, & caused for to fetch him from Lodaber out of ye house of Machir the sonne of Ammuel. 5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar. 5 Then King David sent, and had him taken from Lo-debar, from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel.5 Then king Dauid sent, & fet him out of the house of Machir the sonne of Amiel of Lodeber.5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then king Dauid sent, and fet him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar. 5 And king David went, and took him out of the house of Machir the son Amiel of Lodabar. 5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo–debar. 5 So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.5 Therfor `Dauid the kyng sente, and took hym fro the hows of Machir, sone of Amyel, fro Lodobar.5 And king David sendeth, and taketh him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Lo-Debar,5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then king David sent, and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Look-debar. 5 Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.

5 So David sent for him and brought him from Makir's home. 5 Then King David sent men to bring him from the family of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar. 5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar. 5 Then sent King David, - and fetched him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.5 Then King David sent, and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodabar.5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Am'miel, at Lo-debar.5 And King David sends, and takes him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Behold-Debar,

5 King David didn't lose a minute. He sent and got him from the home of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

6 Mephibosheth son of Jonathan son of Saul came to David, fell facedown, and paid homage. David said, “Mephibosheth!”

6 Mefivoshet, the son of Yonatan, the son of Sha'ul, came to David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. David said, Mefivoshet. He answered, Behold, your servant!

6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! 6 So Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David. And he fell on his face and did obeisance. David said, "Mephibosheth," and he said, "I am ready to serve you."[c] 6 And (f)Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David and fell on his face and paid homage. And David said, "Mephibosheth!" And he answered, "Behold, I am your servant." 6 Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son, came before David and bowed facedown on the floor.

David said, "Mephibosheth!"

Mephibosheth said, "I am your servant." 6 When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed low with his face toward the ground. David said, "Mephibosheth?" He replied, "Yes, at your service."6 (C1)Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David and (C2)fell face down and lay himself down in respect. David said, "Mephibosheth." And he answered, "Here is your servant!"6 (C1)Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, came to David and (C2)fell on his face and prostrated himself. And David said, "Mephibosheth." And he said, "Here is your servant!"6 Nowe when Mephibosheth the sonne of Ionathan, the sonne of Saul was come vnto Dauid, he fel on his face, and did reuerence. And Dauid sayde, Mephibosheth? And he answered, Beholde thy seruant.6 (C1)So Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, came to David and (C2)fell on his face and prostrated himself. And David said, "Mephibosheth." And he said, "Here is your servant!" 6 M'fivoshet the son of Y'honatan, the son of Sha'ul, came to David, fell on his face and prostrated himself. David said, "M'fivoshet!" and he answered, "Here is your servant!"

6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant! 6 Jonathan's son Mephibosheth came to David and bowed with his face low to the floor.

David said, "Mephibosheth?"

Mephibosheth said, "Yes sir, it is I, your servant Mephibosheth."6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come to David, he fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said to him, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold your servant!

6 When Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, arrived, he bowed down before David in respect. David said, "Mephibosheth," and he answered, "At your service, sir."6 And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul came to David and fell on his face, and prostrated himself. And David said, Mephibosheth! And he said, Behold, your servant.6 Now whan Mephiboseth the sonne of Ionathas the sonne of Saul came vnto Dauid, he fell vpon his face, & worshiped him. Dauid sayde: Mephiboseth. He sayde: Here am I thy seruaunt. 6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold, thy servant! 6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, came to David, and falling down on his face, gave him honour. And David said, Mephibosheth. And answering he said, Your servant is here.6 Now when Miphiboseth the sonne of Ionathan ye sonne of Saul was come vnto Dauid, he fell on his face, and dyd reuerence: And Dauid saide, Miphiboseth? He aunswered: Beholde thy seruaunt.6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and fell on his face, and prostrated himself. And David said: 'Mephibosheth!' And he answered: 'Behold thy servant!'6 Now when Mephibosheth the sonne of Ionathan the sonne of Saul, was come vnto Dauid, hee fell on his face, and did reuerence: and Dauid said, Mephibosheth! And he answered, Behold thy seruant. 6 And Memphibosthe the son of Jonathan the son of Saul comes to the king David, and he fell upon his face and did obeisance to him: and David said to him, Memphibosthe: and he said, Behold thy servant. 6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! 6 And when Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he fell facedown in reverence. Then David said, “Mephibosheth!” “I am your servant,” he replied.6 Forsothe whanne Myphibosech, the sone of Jonathas, sone of Saul, hadde come to Dauid, he felde in to his face, and worschipide. And Dauid seide, Myphibosech! Which answeride, Y am present, thi seruaunt.6 and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, cometh unto David, and falleth on his face, and doth obeisance, and David saith, `Mephibosheth;' and he saith, `Lo, thy servant.'6 And Mephibaal, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibaal. And he answered, Look, your slave!6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!6 Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. David said, Mephibosheth. He answered, Behold, your servant! 6 Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, "Mephibosheth?" And he answered, "Here is your servant!" 6 His name was Mephibosheth[a]; he was Jonathan's son and Saul's grandson. When he came to David, he bowed low to the ground in deep respect. David said, "Greetings, Mephibosheth."

Mephibosheth replied, "I am your servant." 6 Mephibosheth the son of Saul's son Jonathan came to David and fell on his face to the ground in respect. David said, "Mephibosheth." And he answered, "Here is your servant!" 6 Mephibosheth[a] son of Jonathan son of Saul came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. David said, "Mephibosheth!"[b] He answered, "I am your servant." 6 Now, when Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came in unto David, he fell on his face and did homage. And David said, Mephibosheth? And he said, Lo! thy servant.6 And when Miphiboseth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul was come to David, he fell on his face and worshipped. And David said: Miphiboseth? And he answered: Behold thy servant.6 And Mephib'osheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, "Mephib'osheth!" And he answered, "Behold, your servant."6 and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, comes to David, and falls on his face, and pays respect, and David says, "Mephibosheth"; and he says, "Behold, your servant."

6 When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan (who was the son of Saul), came before David, he bowed deeply, abasing himself, honoring David.

David spoke his name: "Mephibosheth."
