Then do you come and stand before me in this house that bears my name and say, “We are rescued, so we can continue doing all these detestable acts”?
and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations?
And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!'—only to go on doing all these abominations?
then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are saved!'—so that you may do all these abominations?
If you do that, do you think you can come before me and stand in this place where I have chosen to be worshiped? Do you think you can say, "We are safe!" when you do all these hateful things?
and [then dare to] come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My Name, and say, 'We are protected and set free [by this act of religious ritual]!'—only to go on with this wickedness and these disgusting and loathsome things?
and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations?
And come and stande before mee in this House, whereupon my Name is called, and saye, We are deliuered, though we haue done all these abominations?
then come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered!'—that you may do all these abominations?
and then come and stand before Me in this house, which bears My name, and say, "We are delivered, so we can continue with all these abominations"?
And then you come into my temple and worship me! Do you think I will protect you so that you can go on sinning?
Then you come and stand before me in this house that bears my name and say, ‘We are saved' — so that you can go on doing these abominations!
then ye come and stand before me, in this house which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered,—in order to do all these abominations!
If you commit these sins, do you think that you can stand before me in this house that is called by my name? Do you think you can stand before me and say, "We are safe," just so you can do all these terrible things?
And then you come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, Deliver us; and yet you do all these evils.
You do these things I hate, and then you come and stand in my presence, in my own Temple, and say, ‘We are safe!'
And then you come and you stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and you say, ‘we are safe to go on doing all of these detestable things.'
And will you then come and stand before Me in this house on which My name is called, and say, We are delivered in order to do all those detestable things.
Then come ye, and stonde before me in this house (which hath my name geuen vnto it) and saye: Tush, we are absolued quyte, though we haue done all these abhominacions.
and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that ye may do all these abominations?
And come and take your place before me in this house, which is named by my name, and say, We have been made safe; so that you may do all these disgusting things?
and come and stand before Me in this house, whereupon My name is called, and say: 'We are delivered', that ye may do all these abominations?

And will ye then come in and stand before me in this house whereon my Name hath been called, and say, - We have set ourselves free, - for the purpose of committing all these abominations?
And you have come, and stood before me in this house, in which my name is called upon, and have said: We are delivered, because we have done all these abominations.

And come and stand before me in this house,.... In the temple; this they did after they had been guilty of such immoralities and idolatry; thinking by their appearance there, and their performance of a few ceremonies, and offering of some sacrifices, that all were atoned for: or this denotes their impudence, that, after the commission of such notorious crimes, they should have the front to come into the house of God, and stand before him, as if they had never departed from him, and were his people, and the true worshippers of him:
which is called by my name; the temple of God, the house of God, the sanctuary of the Lord; and where his name was also called upon, being a house of prayer; or where prayer was made to the Lord:
and say, we are delivered; from the punishment of the above sins, by coming into the temple, and standing before the Lord in it; by calling on his name, and offering sacrifices, though with impure hearts and hands, and in a hypocritical way
to do all these abominations; before mentioned; theft, murder, adultery, perjury, and idolatry. The sense is, either we are delivered and freed from punishment, that we may do these things with impunity; this is the use we make of, and the inference we draw from, our deliverance from evil: or we are delivered, though we commit these abominations, and therefore in them: or, seeing we are delivered, therefore do we these things; not that they really said these words, but this was the language of their actions. The Syriac version is, "deliver us, while we commit all these sins".
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
We are delivered - Jeremiah accuses them of trusting in the ceremonial of the temple instead of leading holy lives. “You break,” he says, “the Ten Commandments, and then you go to the Temple; and when the service is over you say, We are delivered. We have atoned for our past actions, and may start afresh with easy minds upon a new course of wickedness.”
