14So the Lord raised up Hadad the Edomite as an enemy against Solomon. He was of the royal family in Edom. 14 The LORD raised up an adversary to Shlomo, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom. 14 And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom. 14 And the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. He was of the royal house in Edom. 14 The Lord caused Hadad the Edomite, a member of the family of the king of Edom, to become Solomon's enemy. 14 The Lord brought against Solomon an enemy, Hadad the Edomite, a descendant of the Edomite king. 14Then the LORD stirred up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of royal descent in Edom. 14 Then the LORD raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal line in Edom. 14 Then the Lord stirred vp an aduersarie vnto Salomon, euen Hadad the Edomite, of the Kings seede, which was in Edom. 14Then Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the seed of the king in Edom.

And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh,.... Perhaps for his comely personage, princely qualities, and good behaviour, as he grew up:
so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen; it seems the kings of Egypt used to marry their favourites to great personages; see Genesis 41:45.
