He was of the royal family in Edom. 14 The LORD raised up an adversary to Shlomo, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom. 14 And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom. 14 And the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. He was of the royal house in Edom. 14 The Lord caused Hadad the Edomite, a member of the family of the king of Edom, to become Solomon's enemy. 14 The Lord brought against Solomon an enemy, Hadad the Edomite, a descendant of the Edomite king. 14Then the LORD stirred up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of royal descent in Edom. 14 Then the LORD raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal line in Edom. 14 Then the Lord stirred vp an aduersarie vnto Salomon, euen Hadad the Edomite, of the Kings seede, which was in Edom. 14Then Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the seed of the king in Edom.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son,.... Which signifies "stealth", and the name might be given in memory of himself being carried away by stealth from his own land:

whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: who was so fond of the child, that she took it, and weaned it for her in the king's palace:

and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh; brought up among them, as if he was one of them.
