Genesis 1:4 4. divided the light from
darkness—refers to the alternation or succession of the one to
the other, produced by the daily revolution of the earth round its
axis.
Psalms 107:4 4-7. A graphic picture is given
of the sufferings of those who from distant lands returned to
Jerusalem; or,
city of habitation—may
mean the land of Palestine.

answering.

his holy hill—Zion ( :-). His visible earthly residence.
Psalms 57:4 4. The mingled figures of wild
beasts (Psalms 10:9; Psalms 17:12)
and weapons of war (Psalms 11:2)
heighten the picture of danger.
whose . . . tongue—or
slanders.
Psalms 73:24 24. All doubts are silenced in
confidence of divine guidance and future glory.
receive me to
glory—literally, "take for (me) glory" (compare
Psalms 68:18; Ephesians 4:8).

writer describes the desirableness of God's worship and prays for a
restoration to its privileges.
Proverbs 1:31 31. fruit . . . way—result of

be filled—even to
repletion (Psalms 123:4).
Isaiah 3:4 4. children—in ability for
governing; antithesis to the "ancient" (see Isaiah 3:12;
Ecclesiastes 10:16).
babes—in warlike might;
antithesis to "the mighty" and "man of war."
Isaiah 40:23 23. (Psalms 107:4;
Daniel 2:21).
judges—that is, rulers;
for these exercised judicial authority (Daniel 2:21- :). The Hebrew, shophtee, answers to the Carthaginian
chief magistrates, suffetes.
Jeremiah 5:18 18. Not even in those
days of judgments, will God utterly exterminate His people.
I will not make a full end
with you— (Jeremiah 5:10;
Jeremiah 4:27).
Daniel 2:8 8. gain . . . time—literally,
"buy." Compare Ephesians 5:16;
Colossians 4:5, where the sense is
somewhat different.
the thing is gone from
me—(See on Daniel 2:5).
Numbers 33:4 4. upon their gods—used either
according to Scripture phraseology to denote their rulers (the
first-born of the king and his princes) or the idolatrous objects of
Egyptian worship.

1. príncipes—magistrados o jueces. ¿no … a vosotros?—¿No es vuestra función especial saber el derecho (Jeremias 5:4)? el derecho—la justicia. Os sentáis para juzgar a los demás; seguramente pues debéis saber el juicio que os espera a vosotros por la injusticia cometida ( Romanos 2:1).
2. les quitan su piel … carne—roban a sus compatriotas todos sus bienes (Salmo
Acts 3:4 4, 5. Peter fastening his eyes on
