פְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים

way·yiq·rə·’ū

וַיִּקְרְא֣וּ

the Philistines

p̄ə·liš·tîm,

פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים

for the priests

lak·kō·hă·nîm

לַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים

and the diviners

wə·laq·qō·sə·mîm

וְלַקֹּֽסְמִים֙

with the ark

hō·w·ḏi·‘u·nū

we shall send

nə·šal·lə·ḥen·nū

נְשַׁלְּחֶ֥נּוּ

it to his place

lim·qō·w·mōw.

לִמְקוֹמֽוֹ׃

And they said

way·yō·mə·rū,

וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

you send away

mə·šal·lə·ḥîm

מְשַׁלְּחִ֞ים

tə·šal·lə·ḥū

תְּשַׁלְּח֤וּ

a guilt offering

you shall be healed

tê·rā·p̄ə·’ū

תֵּרָֽפְאוּ֙

and it shall be known

way·yō·mə·rū,

וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

[shall be] the guilt offering

we shall return

and to him? They answered

way·yō·mə·rū,

וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

[according to] the number

of the lords

of the Philistines

p̄ə·liš·tîm,

פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

wa·ḥă·miš·šāh

וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה

on you all [was]

and on your lords

ū·lə·sar·nê·ḵem.

וּלְסַרְנֵיכֶֽם׃

and Why you shall make

wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem

וַעֲשִׂיתֶם֩

[‘ā·p̄ə·lê·ḵem

of your tumors

(ṭə·ḥō·rê·ḵem

(טְחֹרֵיכֶ֜ם

of your mice

‘aḵ·bə·rê·ḵem,

עַכְבְּרֵיכֶ֗ם

ham·maš·ḥî·ṯim

הַמַּשְׁחִיתִם֙

and you shall give

ū·nə·ṯat·tem

he will lighten

from off you

mê·‘ă·lê·ḵem,

מֵֽעֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

and from off

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

and from off

do you harden

ṯə·ḵab·bə·ḏū

the Egyptians

their hearts

did they not

he had worked wonderfully

and let the people go

way·šal·lə·ḥūm

וַֽיְשַׁלְּח֖וּם

and they departed

way·yê·lê·ḵū.

וַיֵּלֵֽכוּ׃

therefore make

do there has come

wa·’ă·sar·tem

וַאֲסַרְתֶּ֤ם

hap·pā·rō·wṯ

bā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh,

wa·hă·šê·ḇō·ṯem

וַהֲשֵׁיבֹתֶ֧ם

their calves

mê·’a·ḥă·rê·hem

מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם

hab·bā·yə·ṯāh.

הַבָּֽיְתָה׃

ū·lə·qaḥ·tem

וּלְקַחְתֶּ֞ם

ū·nə·ṯat·tem

hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh,

hă·šê·ḇō·ṯem

[for] him a guilt offering

miṣ·ṣid·dōw;

thereof and send it away

wə·šil·laḥ·tem

וְשִׁלַּחְתֶּ֥ם

that it may go

ū·rə·’î·ṯem,

of his own coast

to Beth-shemesh

[then] has done

hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh

הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה

do then we shall know

wə·yā·ḏa‘·nū

וְיָדַ֙עְנוּ֙

[it is] his hand

[that] struck

to us by chance

[is] [that] happened

way·ya·‘ă·śū

וַיַּעֲשׂ֤וּ

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁים֙

and tied them

way·ya·’as·rūm

וַיַּאַסְר֖וּם

bā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh;

their calves

And they laid

way·yā·śi·mū

וַיָּשִׂ֛מוּ

hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh;

of their tumors

ṭə·ḥō·rê·hem.

טְחֹרֵיהֶֽם׃

And took the straight

wa·yiš·šar·nāh

וַיִשַּׁ֨רְנָה

hap·pā·rō·wṯ

of Beth-shemesh

בִּמְסִלָּ֣ה

as they went

[to] the right hand

[to] or the left

and the lords

of the Philistines

פְלִשְׁתִּים֙

’a·ḥă·rê·hem,

of Beth-shemesh

[they of] And Beth-shemesh [were]

in the valley

and they lifted up

וַיִּשְׂא֣וּ

hā·’ā·rō·wn,

way·yiś·mə·ḥū

וַֽיִּשְׂמְח֖וּ

And the cart

wə·hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh

וְהָעֲגָלָ֡ה

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

a Beth-shemite

הַשִּׁמְשִׁי֙

wat·ta·‘ă·mōḏ

[there was] a great

gə·ḏō·w·lāh;

and they cleaved

way·ḇaq·qə·‘ū

וַֽיְבַקְּעוּ֙

hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh,

hap·pā·rō·wṯ,

a burnt offering

And the Levites

wə·hal·wî·yim

וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם

הוֹרִ֣ידוּ ׀

of gold [were]

way·yā·śi·mū

וַיָּשִׂ֖מוּ

[them] the great

hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh;

הַגְּדוֹלָ֑ה

of Beth-shemesh

burnt offerings

and sacrificed

way·yiz·bə·ḥū

וַֽיִּזְבְּח֧וּ

when the five

wa·ḥă·miš·šāh

וַחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה

of the Philistines

פְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים

had seen [it]

they returned

way·yā·šu·ḇū

וַיָּשֻׁ֥בוּ

tumors [are]

the Philistines

פְלִשְׁתִּ֛ים

[for] a guilt offering

lə·’aš·dō·wḏ

לְאַשְׁדּ֨וֹד

for Ashkelon

lə·’aš·qə·lō·wn

לְאַשְׁקְל֣וֹן

lə·‘eq·rō·wn

wə·‘aḵ·bə·rê

וְעַכְבְּרֵ֣י

[according to] the number

of the Philistines

פְלִשְׁתִּים֙

[belonging] to the five

la·ḥă·mê·šeṯ

has·sə·rā·nîm,

הַסְּרָנִ֔ים

of fortified

hap·pə·rā·zî;

the [stone of] Abel

hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh,

הַגְּדוֹלָ֗ה

on that they set down

[which stone remaineth] day

in the field

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

the Beth-shemite

הַשִּׁמְשִֽׁי׃

And he struck

בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י

of Beth-shemesh

they had looked

into the ark

and even he struck

of all the people

and lamented

way·yiṯ·’ab·bə·lū

וַיִּֽתְאַבְּל֣וּ

[many] of the people

with a great

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙

of Beth-shemesh

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

haq·qā·ḏō·wōš

shall he go up

mê·‘ā·lê·nū.

מֵעָלֵֽינוּ׃

And they sent

way·yiš·lə·ḥū

וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ֙

the inhabitants

of Kirjath-jearim

have brought again
