הַשְּׁמִטָּה֒

shall release

to his neighbor

bə·rê·‘ê·hū;

it is called

Of a foreigner

han·nā·ḵə·rî

you may exact

[that] your brother

shall release

do there shall be

shall greatly

yə·ḇā·reḵ·ḵā

יְבָֽרֶכְךָ֙

the LORD you

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

[for] you an inheritance

לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

Only if you carefully

to the voice

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā;

mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā

and you shall lend

wə·ha·‘ă·ḇaṭ·tā

וְהַֽעֲבַטְתָּ֞

and you shall reign

וּמָֽשַׁלְתָּ֙

יִמְשֹֽׁלוּ׃

among you a poor man

of your brothers

of your gates

šə·‘ā·re·ḵā,

in your land

bə·’ar·ṣə·ḵā,

בְּאַ֨רְצְךָ֔

lə·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā,

from your poor

hā·’eḇ·yō·wn.

הָאֶבְיֽוֹן׃

you shall open

and to him and shall surely

wə·ha·‘ă·ḇêṭ

ta·‘ă·ḇî·ṭen·nū,

תַּעֲבִיטֶ֔נּוּ

for his need

[in that] he wants

not a thought

ḇə·lî·ya·‘al

haš·šə·miṭ·ṭāh

הַשְּׁמִטָּה֒

בְּאָחִ֙יךָ֙

against your poor

hā·’eḇ·yō·wn,

הָֽאֶבְי֔וֹן

you and it be

when you give

do be grieved

when your heart

bə·ṯit·tə·ḵā

yə·ḇā·reḵ·ḵā

your God you

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

ma·‘ă·śe·ḵā,

For the poor

mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā

you shall open

to your brother

to your needy

la·‘ă·nî·ye·ḵā

לַעֲנִיֶּ֛ךָ

and to your needy

ū·lə·’eḇ·yō·nə·ḵā

וּלְאֶבְיֹנְךָ֖

in your land

bə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā.

בְּאַרְצֶֽךָ׃

a your brother

הָֽעִבְרִיָּ֔ה

and serve you

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏə·ḵā

וַעֲבָֽדְךָ֖

then in the year

ū·ḇaš·šā·nāh

וּבַשָּׁנָה֙

haš·šə·ḇî·‘iṯ,

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔ת

you shall let him go

tə·šal·lə·ḥen·nū

תְּשַׁלְּחֶ֥נּוּ

you send him out

ṯə·šal·lə·ḥen·nū

תְשַׁלְּחֶ֥נּוּ

do let him go away

ṯə·šal·lə·ḥen·nū

תְשַׁלְּחֶ֖נּוּ

shall furnish him

from your flock

miṣ·ṣō·nə·ḵā,

מִצֹּ֣אנְךָ֔

and out of your floors

ū·mig·gā·rə·nə·ḵā

וּמִֽגָּרְנְךָ֖

and out of your winepress

ū·mî·yiq·ḇe·ḵā;

וּמִיִּקְבֶ֑ךָ

[of that] the LORD

you you shall give

and you shall remember

wə·zā·ḵar·tā,

וְזָכַרְתָּ֗

and redeemed

way·yip̄·də·ḵā

וַֽיִּפְדְּךָ֖

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā;

mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā

And it shall be

and your house

because he is well

Then you shall take

wə·lā·qaḥ·tā

וְלָקַחְתָּ֣

ham·mar·ṣê·a‘,

הַמַּרְצֵ֗עַ

and thrust [it]

wə·nā·ṯat·tāh

through his ear

ḇə·’ā·zə·nōw

and to the door

ū·ḇad·de·leṯ,

and he shall be

to your maidservant

la·’ă·mā·ṯə·ḵā

you shall do

do It shall seem hard

ḇə·‘ê·ne·ḵā,

to you when you set

bə·šal·lê·ḥă·ḵā

בְּשַׁלֵּֽחֲךָ֙

he has been worth

hired servant

[to thee] in serving you

and shall bless

וּבֵֽרַכְךָ֙

your God you

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

the firstling

hab·bə·ḵō·wr

of your herd

biḇ·qā·rə·ḵā

בִּבְקָרְךָ֤

and of your flock

ū·ḇə·ṣō·nə·ḵā

וּבְצֹֽאנְךָ֙

you shall sanctify

תַּקְדִּ֖ישׁ

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā;

with the firstborn

of your bull

the firstling

of your sheep

you shall eat

ṯō·ḵă·len·nū

תֹאכֲלֶ֙נּוּ֙

by in the year

bam·mā·qō·wm

shall choose

and your household

[any] blemish

[or have] ill

do sacrifice

ṯiz·bā·ḥen·nū,

תִזְבָּחֶ֔נּוּ

it to the LORD

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā.

it inside your gates

biš·‘ā·re·ḵā

בִּשְׁעָרֶ֖יךָ

you shall eat

tō·ḵă·len·nū;

תֹּאכֲלֶ֑נּוּ

and the clean

wə·haṭ·ṭā·hō·wr

וְהַטָּהוֹר֙

[person shall eat it] alike

as the roebuck

and as the hart

wə·ḵā·’ay·yāl.

וְכָאַיָּֽל׃

you shall pour

tiš·pə·ḵen·nū

תִּשְׁפְּכֶ֖נּוּ
