Now these [are]

the commands

ham·miṣ·wāh,

the statutes

and the judgments

wə·ham·miš·pā·ṭîm,

וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

that you might do

[them] in the land

לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

to the end that

you might fear

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

His statutes

and his commands

ū·miṣ·wō·ṯāw

וּמִצְוֹתָיו֮

mə·ṣaw·we·ḵā

and your son

and of your son

of your life

and to the end that

may be prolonged

ya·’ă·ri·ḵun

that your days

wə·šā·ma‘·tā

וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤

wə·šā·mar·tā

וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֣

la·‘ă·śō·wṯ,

it may be well

you may increase

has promised

of your fathers

And you shall love

wə·’ā·haḇ·tā,

וְאָ֣הַבְתָּ֔

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā;

and with all

and with all

mə·’ō·ḏe·ḵā.

and shall be

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֣ים

mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā

lə·ḇā·ḇe·ḵā.

And you shall teach them diligently

wə·šin·nan·tām

וְשִׁנַּנְתָּ֣ם

to your sons

lə·ḇā·ne·ḵā,

and shall talk

wə·ḏib·bar·tā

וְדִבַּרְתָּ֖

of them when you sit

bə·šiḇ·tə·ḵā

בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ֤

in your house

בְּבֵיתֶ֙ךָ֙

when you walk

ū·ḇə·leḵ·tə·ḵā

וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ֣

when you lie down

ū·ḇə·šā·ḵə·bə·ḵā

וּֽבְשָׁכְבְּךָ֖

when you rise up

ū·ḇə·qū·me·ḵā.

וּבְקוּמֶֽךָ׃

and you shall bind them

ū·qə·šar·tām

וּקְשַׁרְתָּ֥ם

and they shall be

as frontlets

lə·ṭō·ṭā·p̄ōṯ

on your forehead

and you shall write

ū·ḵə·ṯaḇ·tām

וּכְתַבְתָּ֛ם

of your house

and on your gates

ū·ḇiš·‘ā·re·ḵā.

וּבִשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃

and it shall be

shall have brought

יְבִיאֲךָ֣ ׀

your God you

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

to your fathers

la·’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā

לַאֲבֹתֶ֛יךָ

lə·’aḇ·rā·hām

לְאַבְרָהָ֛ם

and to Jacob

ū·lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ

וּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֖ב

do you built

do [things] you filled

do you digged

and olive trees

do you planted

nā·ṭā·‘ə·tā;

when you shall have eaten

wə·’ā·ḵal·tā

וְאָכַלְתָּ֖

wə·śā·ḇā·‘ə·tā.

וְשָׂבָֽעְתָּ׃

[Then] beware

brought you forth

hō·w·ṣî·’ă·ḵā

הוֹצִֽיאֲךָ֛

out of the land

from the house

you shall fear

and by his name him

and shall swear

tiš·šā·ḇê·a‘.

תִּשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃

of the people

sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem.

סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

[is] jealous

in the midst

bə·qir·be·ḵā;

בְּקִרְבֶּ֑ךָ

and destroy you

wə·hiš·mî·ḏə·ḵā,

וְהִשְׁמִ֣ידְךָ֔

of the earth

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh.

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem;

[him] in Massah

bam·mas·sāh.

בַּמַּסָּֽה׃

shall diligently

תִּשְׁמְר֔וּן

the commands

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem;

and his testimonies

wə·‘ê·ḏō·ṯāw

and his statutes

He has commanded

And you shall do

[that that is] right

wə·haṭ·ṭō·wḇ

in the sight

to the end that

it may be well

that you may go in

wə·yā·raš·tā

וְיָֽרַשְׁתָּ֙

to [give] your fathers

la·’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā.

לַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃

your enemies

from before you

mip·pā·ne·ḵā;

yiš·’ā·lə·ḵā

יִשְׁאָלְךָ֥

your son you

in time to come

[mean] the testimonies

and the statutes

wə·ha·ḥuq·qîm

וְהַֽחֻקִּים֙

and the judgments

wə·ham·miš·pā·ṭîm,

וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים

has commanded

Then you shall say

wə·’ā·mar·tā

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣

bə·miṣ·rā·yim;

בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם

and brought us out

way·yō·w·ṣî·’ê·nū

וַיּוֹצִיאֵ֧נוּ

mim·miṣ·ra·yim

מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם

with a mighty

ū·mō·p̄ə·ṯîm

against Egypt

bə·miṣ·ra·yim

בְּמִצְרַ֛יִם

his household

before our eyes

lə·‘ê·nê·nū.

לְעֵינֵֽינוּ׃

wə·’ō·w·ṯā·nū

to the end that

from there that he might bring us in

to our fathers

la·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū.

לַאֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃

And commanded

way·ṣaw·wê·nū

וַיְצַוֵּ֣נוּ

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū;

for our good

that he might preserve us alive

lə·ḥay·yō·ṯê·nū

לְחַיֹּתֵ֖נוּ

kə·hay·yō·wm

and our righteousness

he has commanded
