נִ֠שְׁבַּעְתִּי

lə·’aḇ·rā·hām

לְאַבְרָהָ֨ם

and to Jacob

ū·lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ

וּֽלְיַעֲקֹב֙

To your descendants

lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā

will I give it

’et·tə·nen·nāh.

אֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃

And I will send

wə·šā·laḥ·tî

וְשָׁלַחְתִּ֥י

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā

and I will drive out

wə·ḡê·raš·tî,

וְגֵֽרַשְׁתִּ֗י

the Canaanite

hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

hā·’ĕ·mō·rî,

and the Hittite

wə·ha·ḥit·tî

וְהַֽחִתִּי֙

and the Perizzite

wə·hap·pə·riz·zî,

וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י

and the Jebusite

wə·hay·ḇū·sî.

וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃

I will go up

in the middle

bə·qir·bə·ḵā,

בְּקִרְבְּךָ֗

I consume you

בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע

then they mourned

way·yiṯ·’ab·bā·lū;

וַיִּתְאַבָּ֑לוּ

his ornaments

For had said

for a moment

I should come up

into the middle

ḇə·qir·bə·ḵā

בְקִרְבְּךָ֖

and consume you

wə·ḵil·lî·ṯî·ḵā;

וְכִלִּיתִ֑יךָ

therefore now

your ornaments

mê·‘ā·le·ḵā,

that I may know

wə·’ê·ḏə·‘āh

And stripped themselves

way·yiṯ·naṣ·ṣə·lū

וַיִּֽתְנַצְּל֧וּ

the children

of their ornaments

Horeb [onward]

lam·ma·ḥă·neh,

לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗ה

from the camp

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

And it came to pass

לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

the tabernacle

וְנִ֨צְּב֔וּ

hā·’ō·hĕ·lāh.

entered into

hā·’ō·hĕ·lāh,

wə·hiš·ta·ḥăw·wū,

וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֔וּ

And he turned again

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

but his servant

ū·mə·šā·rə·ṯōw

וּמְשָׁ֨רְת֜וֹ

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

have let me know

hō·w·ḏa‘·ta·nî,

הֽוֹדַעְתַּ֔נִי

you will send

yə·ḏa‘·tî·ḵā

יְדַעְתִּ֣יךָֽ

and you have also

I have found

in Your sight

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā,

בְּעֵינֶ֗יךָ

hō·w·ḏi·‘ê·nî

də·rā·ḵe·ḵā,

that I may know

wə·’ê·ḏā·‘ă·ḵā,

וְאֵדָ֣עֲךָ֔

to the end that

in Your sight

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā;

בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

shall go [with you]

and I will give rest

wa·hă·ni·ḥō·ṯî

וַהֲנִחֹ֥תִי

your presence

go [with me]

shall it be known

in Your sight

בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙

and your people

wə·‘am·me·ḵā,

bə·leḵ·tə·ḵā

בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֣

so shall be separated

wə·nip̄·lê·nū

וְנִפְלֵ֙ינוּ֙

and your people

wə·‘am·mə·ḵā,

of the earth

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh.

you have spoken

דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ

you have found

and I know you

wā·’ê·ḏā·‘ă·ḵā

I beseech you

kə·ḇō·ḏe·ḵā.

will make pass

and I will proclaim

וְקָרָ֧אתִֽי

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā;

and will be gracious

wə·ḥan·nō·ṯî

I will be gracious

and will show mercy

wə·ri·ḥam·tî

וְרִחַמְתִּ֖י

I will show mercy

[there is] a place

and you shall stand

wə·niṣ·ṣaḇ·tā

וְנִצַּבְתָּ֖

And it shall come to pass

while passes by

that I will put you

wə·śam·tî·ḵā

וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךָ

and will cover you

wə·śak·kō·ṯî

וְשַׂכֹּתִ֥י

with my hand

And I will take away

wa·hă·si·rō·ṯî

וַהֲסִרֹתִי֙

and you shall see

my back parts

must be seen
