Run you to and fro

through the streets

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם

ḇir·ḥō·w·ḇō·w·ṯe·hā,

בִרְחוֹבוֹתֶ֔יהָ

you can find

[any] that executes

and I will pardon

yiš·šā·ḇê·‘ū.

יִשָּׁבֵֽעוּ׃

O LORD [are]

on the truth

le·’ĕ·mū·nāh

you have stricken

you have consumed

they have refused

they have made their faces

they have refused

Surely [are]

they are foolish

do they know

[nor] the judgment

of their God

’ĕ·lō·hê·hem.

אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃

the great men

hag·gə·ḏō·lîm

הַגְּדֹלִים֙

and will speak

wa·’ă·ḏab·bə·rāh

וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה

the judgment

of their God

’ĕ·lō·hê·hem;

have altogether

mō·w·sê·rō·wṯ.

from the forest

of the evenings

shall spoil them

yə·šā·ḏə·ḏêm,

their cities

that goes out

shall be torn in pieces

yiṭ·ṭā·rêp̄;

their transgressions

פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֔ם

are increased

[mə·šu·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem

[מְשֻׁבֹותֵיהֶם

their backslidings

(mə·šū·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem

(מְשׁוּבֹותֵיהֶֽם

[’es·lō·w·aḥ-

shall I pardon

shall I pardon

your children

have forsaken me

‘ă·zā·ḇū·nî,

way·yiš·šā·ḇə·‘ū

וַיִּשָּׁבְע֖וּ

when I had fed them to the full

wā·’aś·bi·a‘

וָאַשְׂבִּ֤עַ

and they then committed adultery

way·yin·’ā·p̄ū,

וַיִּנְאָ֔פוּ

by troops in the harlots

assembled themselves

yiṯ·gō·ḏā·ḏū.

יִתְגֹּדָֽדוּ׃

mə·yuz·zā·nîm

מְיֻזָּנִ֖ים

in the morning

of his neighbor

[things] said

do be avenged

on her walls

ḇə·šā·rō·w·ṯe·hā

בְשָׁרוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙

wə·ša·ḥê·ṯū,

and a full end

take away her

nə·ṭî·šō·w·ṯe·hā,

נְטִ֣ישׁוֹתֶ֔יהָ

of [are] the LORD

have dealt very

treacherously

For the house

and the house

They have belied

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ

[It is] shall evil

nor famine us

shall we see

And the prophets

wə·han·nə·ḇî·’îm

וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙

shall become

And the word

wə·had·dib·bêr

וְהַדִּבֵּ֖ר

[is] shall it be done

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

dab·ber·ḵem,

דַּבֶּרְכֶ֔ם

in your mouth

and it shall devour

wa·’ă·ḵā·lā·ṯam.

וַאֲכָלָֽתַם׃

I will bring

a nation you

[is] an ancient

[is] a nation

whose language

Their quiver

אַשְׁפָּת֖וֹ

[is] as an open

they all [are]

gib·bō·w·rîm.

גִּבּוֹרִֽים׃

And they shall eat up

your harvest

and your bread

wə·laḥ·me·ḵā,

[which] your sons

and your daughers

ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯe·ḵā,

וּבְנוֹתֶ֔יךָ

they shall eat up

and your herds

ū·ḇə·qā·re·ḵā,

they shall eat up

and your fig trees

ū·ṯə·’ê·nā·ṯe·ḵā;

וּתְאֵנָתֶ֑ךָ

they shall impoverish

miḇ·ṣā·re·ḵā,

מִבְצָרֶ֗יךָ

with the sword

And Nevertheless

and it shall come to pass

you shall say

[things] to us? then shall you answer

wə·’ā·mar·tā

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣

as you have forsaken

wat·ta·‘aḇ·ḏū

וַתַּעַבְד֞וּ

in your land

bə·’ar·ṣə·ḵem,

בְּאַרְצְכֶ֔ם

shall you serve

in the house

wə·haš·mî·‘ū·hā

וְהַשְׁמִיע֥וּהָ

understanding

that have eyes

that have ears

’ā·zə·na·yim

יִשְׁמָֽעוּ׃

in My presence

[for] the bound

by a perpetual

ya·‘aḇ·ren·hū;

יַעַבְרֶ֑נְהוּ

thereof toss themselves

way·yiṯ·gā·‘ă·šū

וַיִּֽתְגָּעֲשׁוּ֙

and though they roar

and though the waves

do pass over

ya·‘aḇ·run·hū.

יַעַבְרֻֽנְהוּ׃

and a rebellious

they are revolted

way·yê·lê·ḵū.

וַיֵּלֵֽכוּ׃

in their heart

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū,

both the former

and the latter

ū·mal·qō·wōš

וּמַלְק֖וֹשׁ

in its season

to us the appointed

of the harvest

Your iniquities

‘ă·wō·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem

עֲוֹנוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

have turned away

[things] And your sins

wə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·w·ṯê·ḵem,

וְחַטֹּ֣אותֵיכֶ֔ם

have withheld

among My people

[men] they lay wait

as he who sets

יִלְכֹּֽדוּ׃

their houses

they are become great

and waxen rich

way·ya·‘ă·šî·rū.

וַֽיַּעֲשִֽׁירוּ׃

They are waxen fat

they overpass

of the wicked

do they judge

of the fatherless

and yet they prosper

wə·yaṣ·lî·ḥū;

וְיַצְלִ֑יחוּ

and the right

וּמִשְׁפַּ֥ט

of the needy

’eḇ·yō·w·nîm

אֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים

[things] said

do be avenged

and horrible thing

wə·ša·‘ă·rū·rāh,

וְשַׁ֣עֲרוּרָ֔ה

is committed

The prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm

הַנְּבִיאִ֞ים

and the priests

wə·hak·kō·hă·nîm

וְהַכֹּהֲנִים֙

and my people

[to have it] will you do

lə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh.

לְאַחֲרִיתָֽהּ׃
