יָהִיר lofty, swelling, proud (root יָהַר, which is akin, perhaps, to the noun הַר [“Arab. تَيْهوُرُ a lofty heap of sand”]), Proverbs 21:24; Habakkuk 2:5. (Chaldee and Talmud id., אִתְיְהַר to be proud; יְהִירוּת, יוּהֲרָא pride.)
