Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

אָפַף i.q. סָבַב to surround, but only poet. construed with an acc., Psalms 18:5, 116:3 2 Samuel 22:5; Jonah 2:6 with עַל, Psalms 40:13. In flection it is not contracted, whence אָֽפְפוּ, אֲפָפוּנִי.
