 צַד noun [masculine] side (very rare in Aramaic; perhaps Hebrew, see Biblical Hebrew id., √ צדד); — construct, with preposition: ׳לְצעליא Daniel 7:25, i.e. against; מַלְכוּתָא׳מִצּ Daniel 6:5, i.e. arising from, touching.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

צַד m. with suff. צִדּוֹ, pl. ־ִים (from the root צָדַד which see).

(1) a side, Deuteronomy 31:26; 2 Samuel 2:16, and frequently; specially apparently used of the left side, 1 Samuel 20:25; Psalms 91:7 (opp. to יָמִין). מִצַּד at the side of any thing, Deuteronomy 31:26; Joshua 12:9 עַל צַד at the side, i.e. on the arms where children are carried, Isaiah 60:4, 66:12. With ה parag. צִדָּה on the side, 1 Samuel 20:20.

(2) an adversary, Judges 2:3.

צַד Ch. i.q. Heb. No. 1, side. מִצַּד on the side, or part of, Daniel 6:5. לְצַד at or against the part of, Vulg. contra, Daniel 7:25.
