1 give praise to ׳י Joshua 7:19 (J E; "" ׳שִׂים כָּבוֺד לְ), Ezra 10:11, in both of praise rendered by acknowledging and abandoning sin; see Di. on Joshua , and on Ezra Öttli and especially Ryle; compare verb ידה with לְ; so RVm; > Thes MV SS Be RV and others confession.

(2) thanksgiving, Psal. 26:7 42:5. זָבַה תּוֹדָה to offer praise to God (for a sacrifice) Psalms 50:14, 23 Psalms 50:23, 107:22 116:17 (where the phrase is not to be taken as though proper sacrifices were spoken of). זֶבַח תּוֹדָה Leviticus 22:29, זֶבַח תּוֹדַת הַשְּׁלָמִים Leviticus 7:13, 15 comp. 12, and ellipt. תּוֹדָה a sacrifice of thanks-giving, Psalms 56:13.
