Genesis 2:8, seq. גַּן הַיֶרֶק a garden of herbs, Deuteronomy 11:10; 1 Kings 21:2. גַּן עֵדֶן the garden of Eden planted by God, Genesis 3:24; Joel 2:3 also called גַּן אֱלֹהִים Deuteronomy 28:13, 31:8, Deuteronomy 31:9 and גַּן יְהֹוָה Genesis 13:10; Isaiah 51:3. A garden enclosed, Song of Solomon 4:12 figuratively used of a chaste woman. Plur. גַּנִּים Song of Solomon 4:15, 6:2.
