"Why should I forgive you? Your children have forsaken Me and sworn by gods that are not gods. I satisfied their needs, yet they committed adultery and assembled at the houses of prostitutes.

Yet even in those days, declares the LORD, I will not make a full end of you.

Yet they did not listen or pay attention, but they followed the stubborn inclinations of their own evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.

Yet they would not listen to Me or incline their ear, but they stiffened their necks and did more evil than their fathers.'

"Behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will punish all who are circumcised yet uncircumcised:

Yet they would not obey or incline their ears, but each one followed the stubbornness of his evil heart. So I brought on them all the curses of this covenant I commanded them to follow but they did not keep.'"

Righteous are You, O LORD, when I plead before You. Yet I wish to contend with You: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?

Why are You like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? Yet You are among us, O LORD, and we are called by Your name. Do not forsake us!

Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife and conflict in all the land. I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me.

Yet behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when men will no longer say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt.'

Yet they would not listen or incline their ear, but they stiffened their necks and would not listen or receive My discipline.

Yet My people have forgotten Me. They burn incense to worthless idols that make them stumble in their ways on the ancient roads and walk on bypaths instead of the highway.

Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You to speak good on their behalf, to turn Your wrath from them.

I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.

'For I have not sent them,' declares the LORD, 'and yet they are prophesying falsely in My name; therefore I will banish you and you will perish-you and the prophets who prophesy to you.'"

For I am with you to save you, declares the LORD. Though I will completely destroy all the nations to which I have scattered you, I will not completely destroy you; yet I will correct you in measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished."

Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, 'Buy for yourself the field with silver and call in witnesses, even though the city has been handed over to the Chaldeans!'"

Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah. This is what the LORD says concerning you: You will not die by the sword;

Yet in hearing all these words, the king and his servants did not become frightened or tear their garments.

Yet King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet with the message, "Please pray for us to the LORD our God!"
