And the people believed; and when they heard that the LORD had remembered the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they knelt down and worshipped before the LORD.

AND afterward Moses and Aaron went into the palace and told Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.

And they said, The LORD God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; now let us go three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with the sword or with pestilence.

But the number of bricks which they did make heretofore, you shall lay upon them; you shall not reduce the number thereof; for they are idle; that is why they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

There is no straw given to your servants, and yet they say to us, Make bricks: and, behold, your servants are beaten; and you sin against your people.

And the scribes of the children of Israel saw that they were in a bad situation, for it was said to them, You must not reduce the number of your bricks, of your daily task.

And they met Moses and Aaron standing opposite them, as they came out from the presence of Pharaoh;

And they said to them, May the LORD look upon you and judge; because you have made us to be in disfavor in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us.

And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they dwelt.

And Moses spoke so to the children of Israel; but they did not listen to him, because of their misery and because of bondage.

It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt: Moses and Aaron.

And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aarons staff swallowed up their staffs.

And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, and upon the streams, and they shall become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
