so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself;

Not that I accept such human testimony, but I say these things so that you may be saved.

"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But what are they among so many people?"

Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was a great deal of grass in the place; so they sat down, about five thousand in all.

Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted.

When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, "Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost."

So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets.

So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.

So they said to him, "What sign are you going to give us then, so that we may see it and believe you? What work are you performing?

This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.

So Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me will live because of me.

So Jesus asked the twelve, "Do you also wish to go away?"

So his brothers said to him, "Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples also may see the works you are doing;

So there was a division in the crowd because of him.

They said this to test him, so that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.

So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak these things as the Father instructed me.

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

The Jews said to him, "Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and so did the prophets; yet you say, ‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.'
