So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.

Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God's works might be revealed in him.

So they said again to the blind man, "What do you say about him? It was your eyes he opened." He said, "He is a prophet."

So for the second time they called the man who had been blind, and they said to him, "Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner."

He answered, "And who is he, sir? Tell me, so that I may believe in him."

Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind."

So again Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly."

But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."

So the sisters sent a message to Jesus, "Lord, he whom you love is ill."

But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God's glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

For your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him."

So the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, "Father, I thank you for having heard me.

I knew that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me."

So the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the council, and said, "What are we to do? This man is performing many signs.

So from that day on they planned to put him to death.

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who knew where Jesus was should let them know, so that they might arrest him.

Jesus said, "Leave her alone. She bought it so that she might keep it for the day of my burial.
