but the boat was already far from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

But Jesus immediately spoke up: "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid."

But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, 'The help you would have received from me has been given to God,'

'These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.

A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it."

But Jesus replied, "Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by its roots.

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man.

These are what defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile him."

But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."

But Jesus replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs."

But He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'The weather will be fair, for the sky is red,'

and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times!

A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah." Then He left them and went away.

How do you not understand that I was not telling you about bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Then they understood that He was not telling them to beware of the yeast used in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
