Jesus replied to him, "It is written: 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"

And he brought Him into Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here;

And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been stated, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"

"Leave us alone! What business do You have with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!"

Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" And yet He was rebuking them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that He was the Christ.

But He said to them, "I must also preach the kingdom of God to the other cities, because I was sent for this purpose."

Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

The scribes and the Pharisees began thinking of the implications, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, except God alone?"

And immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.

And they were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God. They were also filled with fear, saying, "We have seen remarkable things today!"

how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?"

Now it was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer with God.

And He raised His eyes toward His disciples and began saying, "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has appeared among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"

"I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

Soon afterward, Jesus began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him,

And He said, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest they are told in parables, so that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.

"Now this is the parable: the seed is the word of God.

But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it."

And seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, and said with a loud voice, "What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!"
