"The Pharisee stood and began praying this in regard to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, crooked, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

"But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to raise his eyes toward heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!'

But Jesus called for the little ones, saying, "Allow the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."

But Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.

And Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!

"For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!"

But He said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God."

And He said to them, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the kingdom of God,

And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.

Now while they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.

And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,

And the spies questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, we know that You speak and teach correctly, and You are not partial to anyone, but You teach the way of God on the basis of truth.

And He said to them, "Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

for they cannot even die anymore, for they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

"But as for the fact that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed this in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB.

"Now He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to Him."

"So you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.

for I say to you, I shall not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."

for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes."
