Jesus replied, "Neither this man sinned nor his parents, but it happened so that the works of God could be revealed in him.

Others were saying, "It is this man"; others were saying, "No, but he is like him." That one was saying, "I am he!"

But how he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. Ask him! He is a mature adult; he will speak for himself!"

They reviled him and said, "You are his disciple! But we are disciples of Moses!

We know that God has spoken to Moses, but we do not know where this man is from."

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if someone is devout and does his will, he listens to this one.

Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would not have sin. But now you say, ‘We see,' your sin remains.

"Truly, truly I say to you, the one who does not enter through the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up at some other place—that one is a thief and a robber.

But the one who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

And they will never follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers."

Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand what it was that he was saying to them.

All those who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep do not listen to them.

No one takes it from me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take possession of it again. This commandment I received from my Father."

But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep!

The Jews answered him, "We are not going to stone you concerning a good deed, but concerning blasphemy, and because you, although you are a man, make yourself to be God!"

But if I am doing them, even if you do not believe me, believe the deeds, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."

And many came to him and began to say, "John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true!"

And when he heard it, Jesus said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, in order that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

But if anyone walks around in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.

He said these things, and after this he said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I can awaken him."
