But whatever house you enter, first say, "Peace to this house.'

But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,

But [fn] I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.

But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather [fn] rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

Matthew 6:22,23">[xr] "No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

Then the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.

But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.

"But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
