Matthew 23:37-39">[xr] "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

But they kept silent. And He took him and healed him, and let him go.

But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, "Friend, go up higher.' Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.

But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, "I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.'

Matthew 5:13; Mark 9:50">[xr] "Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?

It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.

"But when he came to himself, he said, "How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

But the father said to his servants, 'Bring [fn] out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.

"But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him.

But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'

And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,

But Abraham said, "Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

And he said, "No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'

But he said to him, "If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead."'

Matthew 18:6,7; Mark 9:42">[xr] Then He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

But will he not rather say to him, "Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink'?
