Embrace purity, or else he will be angry, and you will perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those that take refuge in him.

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. Yahweh, how are my adversaries increased! Many are those that rise up against me.

I cry to Yahweh with my voice, And he answers me out of his holy hill. Selah.

If a man doesn't turn, he will whet his sword; He has bent his bow, and made it ready.

He has also prepared for him the instruments of death; He makes his arrows fiery [shafts].

His mischief shall return on his own head, And his violence shall come down on his own pate.

I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.

You make him to have dominion over the works of your hands; You have put all things under his feet:

But Yahweh sits [as king] forever: He has prepared his throne for judgment;

Sing praises to Yahweh, who dwells in Zion: Declare among the people his doings.

Yahweh has made himself known, he has executed judgment: The wicked stumbles in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, And the covetous curses, [yes], scorns Yahweh.

The wicked, in the pride of his countenance, [says], He will not require [it]. All his thoughts are, There is no God.

His ways are firm at all times; Your judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffs at them.

He says in his heart, I shall not be moved; To all generations I shall not be in adversity.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

He sits in the lurking-places of the villages; In the secret places he murders the innocent; His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.

He lurks in secret as a lion in his covert; He lies in wait to catch the poor: He catches the poor, when he draws him in his net.

He crouches, he bows down, And the helpless fall by his strong ones.

He says in his heart, God has forgotten; He hides his face; he will never see it.
