Why does the wicked despise God, And say in his heart, You will not require [it]?

Break the arm of the wicked; And as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.

Yahweh is King forever and ever: The nations have perished out of his land.

Yahweh is in his holy temple; Yahweh, his throne is in heaven; His eyes look at, his eyelids try, the sons of man.

Yahweh tries the righteous; But the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.

For Yahweh is righteous; he loves righteousness: The upright shall see his face.

They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, they speak.

For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done disgusting works; There is none that does good.

You put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Yahweh is his refuge.

Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh brings back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, [and] Israel shall be glad.

He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart;

He that does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his friend, Nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;

In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those that fear Yahweh; He that swears to his own hurt, and does not change;

He that does not put out his money to interest, Nor takes reward against the innocent. He that does these things shall never be moved.

He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the slave of Yahweh, who spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul, and he said: I love you, O Yahweh, my strength.

In my distress I called on Yahweh, And cried to my God: He heard my voice out of his temple, And my cry before him came into his ears.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.

He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him, Darkness of water, thick clouds of the skies.
