Draw out the sword and flash it against them that persecute me; say unto my soul. I am your Saviour.

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.

I am greatly troubled; all the day long I walk sadly.

I am feeble and miserable; I have groaned because of the despair of my heart.

I am prepared to suffer, and my sorrow is continually with me.

Remove thy scourges from me; I am stricken by the blow of thy hand.

I am consumed by rebuke on account of my sins; thou dost chastise a man and dost remove his desires like stubble. Verily all men are like a breath.

Hear my prayer, O LORD; give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears; for I am a dweller with thee and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

For innumerable evils have surrounded me; mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head; and my heart fails me.

But I am poor and needy; O my LORD, they have conspired against me; help me and deliver me; do not tarry, O my God.

Repent, and know that I am God; I am exalted among the heathen and I am exalted in the earth.

Hear, O my people, and I will speak to you; O Israel, I will testify to thee: I am God, even your God.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I have trusted in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

I sink in deep mire where there is no footing; I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

I am weary of my crying; my throat is dry; mine eyes fail while I wait for God.

I am become a stranger to my brethren and an alien to my mothers children.

And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble; answer me speedily.

But I am poor and sorrowful; let thy salvation help me, O God.

But I am poor and needy; make haste unto me, O God; thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, tarry not.

I am as a wonder to many; but thou art my strong refuge.
