For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?

So then let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator as they do good.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble .

And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand

And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Through Silvanus, whom I know to be a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, in order to encourage you and testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.

for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

while waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God? Because of this day, the heavens will be burned up and dissolve, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze!

Now this is the gospel message we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.

Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.

The one who says "I have come to know God" and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.

But whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him.

The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.

I have written to you, children, that you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, that you have known him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young people, that you are strong, and the word of God resides in you, and you have conquered the evil one.
