For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah

For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty is like unto the LORD,

For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

For our shield belongeth unto the LORD; and our king to the Holy One of Israel.

My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

How long, O LORD, wilt thou hid thyself for ever? how long shall thy wrath burn like fire?

O remember how short my time is: for what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

For we are consumed in thine anger, and in thy wrath are we troubled.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told.

The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but labour and sorrow; for it is soon gone, and we fly away.

For he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

For thou, O LORD, art my refuge! thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
