But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled,My steps had almost slipped.

For I was envious of the boastful,I saw the peace of the wicked.

For there are no pains in their death,And their body is fat.

For I have been stricken all day longAnd reproved every morning.

For, behold, those who are far from You will perish;You have destroyed everyone who is unfaithful to You.

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;I have set Lord Yahweh as my refuge,That I may recount all Your works.

Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting place;They have set up their own signs for signs.

You crushed the heads of Leviathan;You gave him as food for the creatures of the desert.

Look to the covenant;For the dark places of the land are full of the haunts of violence.

We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,For Your name is near;Men recount Your wondrous deeds.

"For I select an appointed time,It is I who judge with equity.

For one's rising up does not come from the east, nor from the west,And not from the desert;

For a cup is in the hand of Yahweh, and the wine foams;It is full of His mixture, and He pours from this;Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its dregs.

But as for me, I will declare it forever;I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

For the wrath of man shall praise You;With a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.

For He established a testimony in JacobAnd set a law in Israel,Which He commanded our fathersThat they should teach them to their children,

And in their heart they put God to the testBy asking for food according to their desire.

Behold, He struck the rock so that waters gushed out,And streams were overflowing;Can He give bread also?Will He prepare meat for His people?"

When He killed them, then they sought Him,And returned and sought earnestly for God;

For their heart was not prepared to remain with Him,Nor were they faithful in His covenant.
