He has laid waste to His tabernacle like a garden booth; He has destroyed His place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and Sabbaths. In His fierce anger He has despised both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected His altar; He has abandoned His sanctuary; He has handed the walls of her palaces over to the enemy. They have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to destroy the wall of the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withdraw His hand from destroying. He made the ramparts and walls lament; together they waste away.

The LORD has done what He planned; He has accomplished His decree, which He ordained in days of old. He has overthrown you without pity; He has let the enemy gloat over you and exalted the horn of your foes.

Indeed, He keeps turning His hand against me all day long.

He bent His bow and set me as the target for His arrow.

He pierced my kidneys with His arrows.

Because of the LORD's loving devotion we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.

Let him bury his face in the dust-perhaps there is still hope.

Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with reproach.

Even if He causes grief, He will show compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.

to subvert a man in his lawsuit-of these the Lord does not approve.

Why should any mortal man complain, in view of his sins?

The nursing infant's tongue clings in thirst to the roof of his mouth. Little children beg for bread, but no one gives them any.

The LORD has exhausted His wrath; He has poured out His fierce anger; He has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has consumed her foundations.

The LORD's anointed, the breath of our life, was captured in their pits. We had said of him, "Under his shadow we will live among the nations."

From what seemed to be His waist up, I saw a gleam like amber, with what looked like fire within it all around. And from what seemed to be His waist down, I saw what looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded Him.

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard a great rumbling sound behind me-blessed be the glory of the LORD in His dwelling place!-

If I say to the wicked man, 'You will surely die,' but you do not warn him or speak out to warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, and I will hold you responsible for his blood.

But if you warn a wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness and his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have saved yourself.
