Then you shall say in your heart, Who has begotten me these, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering to and fro? and who has brought these up? Look, I was left alone; these, where were they?

And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; and those that wait for me shall not be put to shame.

And I will feed those that oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunk with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

I, even I, am he that comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of common man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass;

For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar: Yahweh of hosts is his name.

Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore [they shall know] in that day that I am he that speaks; look, it is I.

Neither let the foreigner, that has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying, Yahweh will surely separate me from his people; neither let the eunuch say, Look, I am a dry tree.

Then you shall call, and Yahweh will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

You shall also be nursed with the milk of the nations, and shall be nursed with the breast of kings; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

I am inquired of by those that didn't ask [for me]; I am found of those that didn't seek me: I said, Look at me, look at me, to a nation that did not call on my name.

that say, Stand by yourself, don't come near to me, for I am holier than you. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.

Then I said, Ah, Lord Yahweh! look, I don't know how to speak; for I am a child.

But Yahweh said to me, Don't say, I am a child; for to whoever I shall send you you shall go, and whatever I shall command you you shall speak.

Don't be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you, says Yahweh.

And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you: for I am with you, says Yahweh, to deliver you.

How can you say, I am not defiled, I haven't gone after the Baalim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: [you are] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

Yet you said, I am innocent; surely his anger has turned away from me. Look, I will enter into judgment with you, because you say, I haven't sinned.

Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says Yahweh; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says Yahweh, I will not keep [anger] forever.

Return, O backsliding sons, says Yahweh; for I am a husband to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Inside me, inside me! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I can't hold my peace; because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
