Look, the mounds, they have come to the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence; and what you have spoken has come to pass; and, look, you see it.

and said to Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we pray you, our supplication be presented before you, and pray for us to Yahweh your God, even for all this remnant; for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes see us:

saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there we will dwell:

For thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: As my anger and my wrath has been poured forth on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth on you, when you shall enter into Egypt; and you shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, then see that you read all these words,

Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn't remember her latter end; Therefore she has come down wonderfully; she has no comforter: See, O Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.

All her people sigh, they seek bread; They have given their pleasant things for food to refresh the soul: See, O Yahweh, and behold; for I have become abject.

Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, With which Yahweh has afflicted [me] in the day of his fierce anger.

See, O Yahweh, and look at whom you have done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Remember, O Yahweh, what has come on us: Look, and see our reproach.

Then he said to me, See, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung, and you shall prepare your bread thereon.

Look, the day, see it comes: your doom has gone forth; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

And he said to me, Son of man, do you see what they do? even the great disgusting things that the house of Israel commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but you shall again see yet other great disgusting things.

And he said to me, Go in, and see the wicked disgusting things that they do here.

Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, Yahweh does not see us; Yahweh has forsaken the land.

He also said to me, You shall again see yet other great disgusting things which they do.

Then he said to me, Have you seen [this], O son of man? you shall again see yet greater disgusting things than these.

Then he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting [of judgment]: for they say, Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh does not see.

Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and don't see, that have ears to hear, and don't hear; for they are a rebellious house.

In their sight you shall bear it on your shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; you shall cover your face, that you don't see the land: for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel.
