His shoots will go forth,And his splendor will be like the olive treeAnd his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.

Those who live in his shadowWill again raise grain,And they will flourish like the vine.His name of remembrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.

They do not crowd each other;They march everyone in his path;When they fall against the defending weapons,They do not break ranks.

But Yahweh gives forth His voice before His military force;Surely His camp is very numerous,For mighty is he who does His word.The day of Yahweh is indeed great and very awesome,And who can endure it?

Gather the people, set apart the congregation as holy,Assemble the elders,Gather the infants and the nursing babies.Let the bridegroom come out of his roomAnd the bride out of her bridal chamber.

Then Yahweh will be zealous for His landAnd will spare His people.

Then Yahweh will answer and say to His people,"Behold, I am going to send you grain, new wine, and oil,And you will be satisfied in full with them;And I will never again make you a reproach among the nations.

And Yahweh roars from ZionAnd gives forth His voice from Jerusalem,And the heavens and the earth quake.But Yahweh is a refuge for His peopleAnd a strong defense to the sons of Israel.

And he said,"Yahweh roars from ZionAnd from Jerusalem He gives forth His voice;And the shepherds' pasture grounds mourn,And the top of Carmel dries up."

Thus says Yahweh,"For three transgressions of Edom and for fourI will not turn back its punishmentBecause he pursued his brother with the swordWhile he corrupted his compassion;And his anger also tore continually,And he kept his wrath forever.

And their king will go into exile,He and his princes together,"Says Yahweh.

Thus says Yahweh,"For three transgressions of Judah and for fourI will not turn back its punishmentBecause they rejected the law of YahwehAnd have not kept His statutes;Their falsehood also has led them astray,That which their fathers walked after.

These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the poorAlso turn aside the way of the humble;And a man and his father go to the same young womanIn order to profane My holy name.

"Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,Though his height was like the height of cedars,And he was strong as the oaks;I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below.

So flight will perish from the swift,And the strong will not instill his power with courage,Nor will the mighty man make his life escape.

He who grasps the bow will not stand his ground,The swift of foot will not escape,Nor will he who rides the horse make his life escape.

Surely Lord Yahweh does nothingUnless He reveals His secret counselTo His slaves the prophets.

Lord Yahweh has sworn by His holiness that,"Behold, the days are coming upon you,And they will take you away with meat hooks,And the last of you with fish hooks.

For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the windAnd declares to man what are His thoughts,He who makes dawn into gloomAnd treads on the high places of the earth,Yahweh God of hosts is His name.

He who made the Pleiades and OrionAnd overturns the shadow of death into morning,Who also darkens day into night,Who calls for the waters of the seaAnd pours them out on the surface of the earth,Yahweh is His name.
