"Will not all of these lift up a taunt‑song against him,Even satire and riddles against himAnd say, ‘Woe to him who increases what is not his—For how long—And makes himself rich with loans?'

"Woe to him who is greedy for evil gain for his houseTo put his nest on high,To be delivered from the hand of evil!

"What profit is the graven image when its maker has engraved it,Or a molten image, a teacher of lies?For its maker trusts in his own makingWhen he fashions speechless idols.

But Yahweh is in His holy temple.Let all the earth be silent before Him."

God comes from Teman,And the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah.His splendor covers the heavens,And the earth is full of His praise.

His brightness is like the sunlight;He has rays flashing from His hand,And there is the hiding of His strength.

You pierced with his own sharpened rodsThe head of his throngs.They stormed in to scatter us;Their exultation was like thoseWho devour the afflicted in secret.

Be silent before Lord Yahweh!For the day of Yahweh is near,For Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice;He has set apart His guests.

Neither their silver nor their goldWill be able to deliver themOn the day of the fury of Yahweh;And all the earth will be devouredIn the fire of His jealousy,For He will make a complete destruction,Indeed a terrifying one,Of all the inhabitants of the earth.

Seek Yahweh,All you humble of the earthWho have worked His justice;Seek righteousness, seek humility.Perhaps you will be hiddenIn the day of Yahweh's anger.

Yahweh will be fearsome to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.

And He will stretch out His hand against the northAnd cause Assyria to perish,And He will make Nineveh a desolation,Parched like the wilderness.

This is the exultant cityWhich inhabits securely,Who says in her heart,"I am, and there is no one besides me."How she has become an object of horror,A resting place for beasts!Everyone who passes by her will hissAnd wave his hand in contempt.

Yahweh is righteous in her midst;He will do no injustice.Every morning He brings His justice to light;He does not fail.But the unjust knows no shame.

Yahweh has taken away His judgments against you;He has cleared away your enemies.The King of Israel, Yahweh, is in your midst;You will fear evil no more.
