Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, *said to them, "Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?

And it *happened that as He was reclining at the table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and His disciples. For there were many of them, and they were following Him.

And when the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they were saying to His disciples, "He is eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners!"

And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain.

And He *said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry;

And after looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

And Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and from Judea,

And He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;

And when His own people heard this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, "He has lost His senses."

But no one can enter the strong man's house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.

Then His mother and His brothers *arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him, calling Him.

And He was teaching them many things in parables, and was saying to them in His teaching,

And when He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables.

and He was not speaking to them without a parable; but He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples.

who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain;

And they *came to Jesus and *observed the demon-possessed man sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had the "legion"; and they became frightened.

And one of the synagogue officials named Jairus *came up, and on seeing Him, *fell at His feet

after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His garment.

For she was saying, "If I just touch His garments, I will be saved from this."

And His disciples were saying to Him, "You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?'"
