So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house."

and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him."

For Herod had laid hold of John and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.

And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.

Then his disciples came and took away the body and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food."

Mark 6:45-52; John 6:15-21">[xr] Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.

But you say, "Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God"--

then he need not honor his father or mother.' [fn] Thus you have made the commandment [fn] of God of no effect by your tradition.

Then His disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"

But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us."

Mark 8:1-10">[xr] Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."

Then His disciples said to Him, "Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?"

And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude.

Mark 8:14-21">[xr] Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

Mark 8:27-30; Luke 9:18-20">[xr] When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

Mark 8:31-33; Luke 9:21,22">[xr] From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
