And he arose, and departed to his house.

And it came to pass, as he sat to eat in the house, look, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why does your Teacher eat with the publicans and sinners?

And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.

And look, a woman, who had a discharge of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the border of his garment:

for she said to herself, If I do but touch his garment, I shall be made whole.

But they went forth, and spread abroad his fame in all that land.

Then he says to his disciples, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the workers are few.

Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth workers into his harvest.

And he called to him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;

no wallet for [your] journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the worker is worthy of his food.

And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his lord.

It is enough for the disciple that he is as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more them of his household!

For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:

and a man's foes [shall be] those of his own household.

And he that does not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

He that finds his life shall lose it; and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.

And whoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you he shall in no way lose his reward.
