And it came to pass when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent through his disciples

Then he began to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they did not repent.

At that season Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grainfields; and his disciples were hungry and began to pluck ears and to eat.

He shall not strive, nor cry aloud; Neither shall any one hear his voice in the streets.

And in his name shall the Gentiles hope.

and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?

Or how can one enter into the house of the strong [man,] and spoil his goods, except he first binds the strong [man]? and then he will spoil his house.

The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things.

While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, look, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.

And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Look, my mother and my brothers!

When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, [then] the evil [one] comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the wayside.

He set another parable before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seed in his field:

but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away.

Another parable he set before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

Then he left the multitudes, and went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those that do iniquity,

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field; which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

And he said to them, Therefore every scribe who has been made a disciple to the kingdom of heaven is like a man that is a householder, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

And coming into his own country he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, From where has this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
