But Peter said, "Mister,Man">[fn] I don't know what you're talking about!" Just then, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."the power of God">[fn]Matthew 26:64; Mark 14:62; Hebrews 1:3; 8:1;">[xr]

But they kept insisting, "He is stirring up the people by teaching all over Judea, beginning in Galilee even to this place."

So he continued to question him for a long time, but Jesushe">[fn] gave him no answer at all.

But they all shouted out together, "Away with this man! Release Barabbas for us!"Acts 3:14;">[xr]

But Pilate wanted to let Jesus go, so he appealed to them again,

but they continued to shout, "Crucify him! Crucify him!"

But they kept pressing him with loud shouts, demanding that Jesushe">[fn] be crucified, and their shouts began to prevail.

So he released the man who had been put in prison for revolt and murder - the man they continued to demand - but he let them have their way with Jesus.he turned Jesus over to their will">[fn]

But Jesus turned to them and said, "WomenDaughters">[fn] of Jerusalem, stop crying for me, but cry for yourselves and for your children.

But the other one rebuked him, saying, "Aren't you afraid of God, since you are suffering the same penalty?

We have been condemned justly, for we are getting what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong."

But all his acquaintances, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, were standing at a distance watching these things.Psalm 38:11; Matthew 27:55; Mark 15:40; John 19:25;">[xr]
