For everyone practicing wickedness hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, that his works may not be exposed.

But the one doing the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.

After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea. And He continued there with them and baptized.

And what He has seen and heard, this He testifies, and no one receives His testimony.

The one receiving His testimony has sealed that God is true.

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.

(though truly Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),

And He came to a Samaritan city called Sychar, near the piece of land Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

For His disciples had gone away into the city that they might buy provisions.

Are You greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well, and he and his sons and his livestock drank out of it?

And on this, His disciples came and marveled that He was speaking with a woman. However, no one said, What do You seek? Or, Why do You speak with her?

Jesus said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

And many more believed through His Word.

For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own fatherland.

Hearing that Jesus was coming from Judea into Galilee, this one went out to Him and asked Him that He would come and heal his son, for he was about to die.

But already, as he was going down, his slaves met him and reported, saying, Your child lives.

Then the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself, and his whole house, believed.

And instantly the man became well, and took up his cot and walked. And it was a sabbath that day.

Because of this, therefore, the Jews lusted the more to kill Him, for not only did He break the sabbath, but also called God His own Father, making Himself equal to God.

Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice.
