Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.

Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

Mary therefore, when she came where Jesus was, and saw him, fell down at his feet, saying to him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you heard me.

He that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus says to them, Loose him, and let him go.

Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, that should betray him, says,

These things his disciples did not understand at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.

He that loves his life loses it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it to eternal life.

Isaiah said these things, because he saw his glory; and he spoke of him.

And I know that his commandment is eternal life: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father has said to me, so I speak.

Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour came that he should depart out of this world to his Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them to the end.

[Jesus], knowing that the Father had given all the things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goes to God,

rises from supper, and lays aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself.

So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and sat down again, he said to them, Do you know what I have done to you?

Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his lord; neither one that is sent greater than he that sent him.

I don't speak of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled: He that eats my bread lifted up his heel against me.

There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say to you I don't speak from myself: but the Father abiding in me does his works.

If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
