You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and has never stood by the truth,stood by the truth">[fn] since there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie he speaks in character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.Matthew 13:38; 1 John 3:8; Jude 1:6;">[xr]

His disciples asked him, "Rabbi,Rabbi is Heb. for Master and/or Teacher">[fn] who sinned, this man or his parents, that caused him to be born blind?"John 9:34;">[xr]

So they said again to the blind man, "What do you say about him, for it was your eyes he opened?" He said, "He is a prophet."John 4:19; 6:14;">[xr]

But we don't know how it is that he now sees, and we don't know who opened his eyes. Ask him. He is of age and can speak for himself."

Then Jesus said, "I have come into this world for judgment, so that those who are blind may see, and those who see may become blind."Matthew 13:13; John 3:17; 12:47;">[xr]

So again Jesus said, "Truly, truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays downgives">[fn] his life for the sheep.Isaiah 40:11; Ezekiel 34:12,23; 37:24; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 2:25; 5:4;">[xr]

For he is a hired hand, and the sheep do not matter to him.

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay downgive">[fn] my life for the sheep.Matthew 11:27; John 15:13;">[xr]

Jesus replied to them, "I have shown you many good works from mythe">[fn] Father. For which of them are you going to stone me?"

The Jews answered him, "We are not going to stone you for a good work but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, are making yourself God!"John 5:18;">[xr]

But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This illness is not meant to end in death. It is for God's glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it."John 9:3,40;">[xr]

Yet, when he heard that Lazarushe">[fn] was ill, he stayed where he was for two days.John 10:40;">[xr]

The disciples said to him, "RabbiRabbi is Heb. for Master and/or Teacher">[fn] , the Jews were just now trying to stone you to death, and you are going back there again?"John 10:31;">[xr]
