Then Jesus said, "Leave her alone, so that she might keep it for the day of my burial.

For you will always have the destitute with you, but you will not always have me."Matthew 26:11; Mark 14:7;">[xr]

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting,Psalm 118:25-26;">[xr] "Hosanna!Hosanna is Heb. for Please save or Praise">[fn] How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord,Psalm 118:25-26">[fn] the King of Israel!"

This accounts for the crowd going out to meet him, for they had heard that he had performed this sign.John 12:11;">[xr]

Jesus said to them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.John 13:32; 17:1;">[xr]

The one who loves his life will destroy it, and the one who hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life.Matthew 10:39; 16:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 9:24; 17:33;">[xr]

Jesus replied, "This voice has come for your benefit, not for mine.John 11:42;">[xr]
