But if you do not send him, we will not go. For the man said, ‘You will not see my face unless your brother is with you.'"

Judah said, "We do not know what to say to my lord. How can we make ourselves right in your eyes? God has shown the guilt of your servants. See, we are your servants, both we and the one who was found with the cup."

Then you said to your servants, ‘Bring him here to me, so I may see him.'

Then you said to your servants, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes here with you, you will not see my face again.'

But we said, ‘We cannot go there. If our youngest brother is with us, we will go there. For we cannot see the man's face unless our youngest brother is with us.'

For how can I return to my father if the boy is not with me? I am afraid to see the sorrow that my father would suffer."

"Now your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you.

Israel said, "It is enough. My son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."

Then Joseph went to Pharaoh and said, "My father and my brothers and their flocks and cattle and all they own have come from the land of Canaan. See, they are in the land of Goshen."

Then Joseph said to the people, "See, today I have bought you and your land for Pharaoh. Now here is seed for you to plant in the fields.

After this Joseph was told, "See, your father is sick." So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim with him.

He said to me, ‘See, I will give you many children. I will make you a group of nations. And I will give this land to your children and to your children's children after you. It will belong to them forever.'

Now Israel's eyes had become weak from being old, and he could not see. So Joseph brought them near to him. And Israel kissed them and put his arms around them.

Israel said to Joseph, "I never thought I would see your face. But see, God has let me see your children also."

Then Israel said to Joseph, "See, I am about to die. But God will be with you. He will return you to the land of your fathers.

‘My father had me make a promise to him. He said, "See, I am about to die. Bury me in my grave which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan." So let me go and bury my father. Then I will return.'"

Then his brothers came and fell down in front of him and said, "See, we are your servants."

He lived long enough to see Ephraim's grandchildren. And the sons of Manasseh's son Machir were held on Joseph's knees.

He said to his people, "See, the people of Israel are too many and too powerful for us.

He said, "When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth, and see the baby before the mother does, if it is a son, kill him. But if it is a daughter, let her live."
