Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, "Thus says the Lord , the God of Israel: I have heard your prayer to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria.

As he was worshiping in the house of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped into the land of Ararat. His son Esar-haddon succeeded him.

"Turn back, and say to Hezekiah prince of my people, Thus says the Lord , the God of your ancestor David: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; indeed, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord .

therefore thus says the Lord , the God of Israel, I am bringing upon Jerusalem and Judah such evil that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

The king commanded all the people, "Keep the passover to the Lord your God as prescribed in this book of the covenant."

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from hurt and harm!" And God granted what he asked.

and when they received help against them, the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hands, for they cried to God in the battle, and he granted their entreaty because they trusted in him.

Many fell slain, because the war was of God. And they lived in their territory until the exile.
