Then he said, What monument is that which I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the tomb of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Beth-el.

And their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt-offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the slave of God had commanded.

and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the leader of the house of God;

and their brothers, heads of their fathers' houses, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

for the four leading porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.

For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great host, like the host of God.

And David said to all the assembly of Israel, If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let us send abroad every where to our brothers that are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us;

and let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we did not seek to it in the days of Saul.
