But Christ, the Son of God, is in charge of God's outfit for all time. We are God's outfit if we stay brave and stay confident in our hope of what Jesus did for us.

So, watch out for yourselves, cowboys. Make sure your hearts are not turning away from God and the way he told you to ride.
Hebrews 3:13
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Open your eyes and help each other. Don't let one another be deceived by sin and turn away from God.

[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
If we can stay in the saddle until our ride is over, believing and trusting in God the way we did at first, we will share in all the things that belong to Jesus.
Hebrews 3:16
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Think about it. Who was it who turned their backs on God even though they clearly heard his voice? It was the very people Moses gathered up out of Egypt.
Hebrews 3:17
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
And wasn't it them who made God mad those forty years in the wilderness? It was these sinners whose bodies still lay in the desert.
Hebrews 3:18
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Who do you think God was talking about when he said they wouldn't come through his gate for rest or grub? It was the people who refused to ride for him and chose to ride for themselves.
Hebrews 3:19
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
It was this choice they made for themselves that kept them from God, his rest, and his grub.
Hebrews 4:1
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Now listen, we've still got that promise from God. We can still have the rest he promised us, but you've got to be careful you ain't left in the dust.
Hebrews 4:3
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Those who believe get the rest that was promised, just like God said, "I made them a promise when they made me mad, 'They won't ever get any rest.'"God's work is done. It has been since the seventh day after he'd made it all.
Hebrews 4:4
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
He already told us this when the Good Book said, "On the seventh day, God sat down and rested because he was done."
Hebrews 4:6
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
This all means some will still get the rest they're looking for, and others who've heard the good news and didn't trust in it, did not and will not. It ain't because God don't love them. It's because they don't love God.
Hebrews 4:9

Nothing can hide from God. Everything is naked and exposed. We will all answer to him one day and give account of the ride we made.
Hebrews 4:16
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Because of this, we know that our wrong turns won't be held against us in front of God. We can go right up to him and know he sees his son's ride and not our own. This gives us the confidence we need to finish it out when the trail turns rank.
Hebrews 5:1
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]

Hebrews 5:6
[ Read Chapter | View Context | Multi-Translations | Study Tools ]
Another time God said, "You are the last trail guide. You'll finish what Melchizedek started."
